Brief article from Food & Wine echoing what's been said in various threads with comments from the BA's economist.

"“It’s impossible to predict how many breweries will close this year, but it’s going to be the highest number we’ve seen in recent years.”"

"If you have a local brewery you love, do everything you can to support them. “Consider buying beer to go (if available) or purchasing a gift card from [your] favorite local brewery (or favorite five or ten),”"

If this lasts longer than, say, a month - here, in Colorado Springs, it's going to do serious damage. I would expect 3-4 breweries (out of about 20+) to close within months. Hard to fathom where this stops for the breweries and taprooms. Support in any way you can!

I just placed an order with Proclamation. Easy as pie and they are selling singles. Get there with your ID and pick up your order. Nice excuse to go for a ride and support your local brewery. I hear many are doing this. Good call.

The gift card purchase applies to any business, brewery or otherwise, that depends on public traffic. A gift card is like a small interest free loan to support your favorite places and their employees through this.... restaurants, coffee shops, any type of store, bowling alley, amusement park, theaters, museums, salon/barber/spa, music halls, comedy clubs, sports arenas, local tourism, etc...I'm sure each of you can think of more.

For the first time ever , over priced 12 packs are sold out around my way. Sam Adams is gone folks! Sn And Shiner, gone. Distributing breweries who sell to grocery stores are back.

local draft pour and growler sells are done with for the foreseeable future.
We may return to 2010 numbers.
Packaged locals will survive. But that’s about 10% of my areas breweries. If we go into full lockdown though, packaged and bars would be considered non essential and have to close for good.
Some places have already conceded and are closed (temporarily). They can’t operate at current 50% occupancy rules, and without dine in food.
