A new drop from Loowit Brewing (Vancouver, Wa) in a series of beers dedicated to the old pencil and paper Dungeons and Dragons character classes.

 

Here is some stimulationary for @bowzer4birdie. This is my second can of this beer, which was poured to see if the whole batch is not its usual self. It is not. I almost poured it out, then I heard from reliable sources that Wisconsin is going to be effectively shut down as soon as Monday, so I will drink all of this malt-water. If anyone else has had some of the 2/28/20 batch of this beer, and have had a different experience, please let me know.

 

Footlong roasted chicken with provolone a bunch of veggies and honey mustard for lunch. Super low calorie and hits the spot. Basically my favorite sub from Subway for a long time, especially when I dropped 100 lbs a decade ago.


Beer:

Incredible as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-full bodied, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Amazing classic Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced malt backbone. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Feels less sweet than last year. Also a lot easier to find when released. Still on the shelf.

I'm headed back to my roots with this one. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was the beer that introduced me to the idea that beer didn't have to be crap. And I used to think that at 5.6% it was a strong beer, too. Well, I guess it's strong compared to the AAL swill out there.
