Yeah, I have a good amount of hop showers and then that is all. Will be nice once things settle down to be able to enjoy some OH and compare it what I have been drinking.

Also I was watching the virtual share live feed and both Andrew and Sam hopped on with Geriz, I was hoping one of them would talk about what style they like to drink but aren't brewing because it doesn't make "business sense" I really miss some of their Brett stuff. Crazy Talk (as I have gone on about in here before) was excellent and I remember really like the brett saison they did years ago too. Sam did mention a beer coming out where the proceeds will go back to Hospitality workers in the industry, so curious on the details around that.
UGH DDH Green City I need you

So is it confirmed then that the Green City that dropped before was different (not DDH?) than the Rochester drop? I poked around on Untappd and got the impression there was only really one version of Green City.

Yeah but they both have the same descriptions on Instagram. I'll put my money on that it's the same beer

Andrew says it is a new can from Brooklyn today, though Misfroots is a Roch beer.

Probably brew a batch and all proceeds go to Coronavirus efforts. Maybe like the resilient IPA series where breweries around the world can brew it as wel

In a live stream last night they mentioned it was being brewed for the service industry and all those that are affected by this.

Yeah I mentioned this earlier, Sam talked about it.

FWIW DDH Green City seemed to have a Black label when dropped at ROC
Edit: with costs as reg Green City being the same, assumption would be this is from Roc, if anyone buys it check the address on the label and the tab on top. Roc beers have been priced a tad lower so would make sense what would be $20 here is $18 there and when they bring down Roc beers they keep the cost the same and vice versa

"The recipe is open source, the artwork is public, and the name is yours to use. The goal is to provide you with the tools to make the beer at the lowest possible cost."

By providing open access, are expenses exponentially reduced for other breweries? What am I missing here?

Not really no. Access to the design files let's the general public know that the beer that brewery whatever makes is related to the OH one; not to mention better branding for OH

The recipe being open sourced is cool, but just about every brewery who has dabbled in trying to do hazy IPAs have done this in some way or form.

With that said it does mean a reduction of design costs, and there is a company that will print labels at cost.

All in all, a good concept going to a good cause.

It means lowest cost possible because they used readily available ingredients that most breweries already have. And allows the flexibility for a brewery to tweak the recipe as they see fit based off of their ability

While this is a good, thoughtful idea, I can’t be too impressed with this? It took a pandemic where they’ve been personally effected for Other Half (correct me if I’m wrong) to finally do something for good w/ their brand. I don’t remember them doing much for the local community or anything selfless in the past. (Fundraisers, beer proceeds going somewhere really important). Hope they continue to do things like this in future.
As the most visited brewery in the NYC, I feel they could have been doing more good with their brand instead of just getting folks to line up around Gowanus & get drunk. They do make good $$$. Breweries in general may not be doing as well right now, but they’re still in business finding new ways to distribute beer to the community and people are still buying in bulk. It’s the taproom crew and good chunk of operational employees that are really hurting at OH. Maybe sell merch online w/ proceeds going to their out of work employees as well.

Hopefully they can also do something nice for hospital workers, raise $ for people in need of supplies, small local businesses that can’t be open right now, etc. They have the power to raise a lot of money w/ their brand while keeping doors open.

You're definitely right, though as a rule never assume any business doing charitable work is doing for purely unselfish reasons. A local coffee shop donated a bunch of cold brew to first responders. Nice, but there's no way they could move all the product before it went bad. Now it's a tax write off with free good press and advertising.
Same vein a pizza place offered big discounts to first responders and industry (wait staff/bartenders) and got, guess what, free local press and a big uptick in people ordering from there who weren't getting the discount rather than one of the thousand other pizza places. Honestly that no one locally thought of it first is actually a little funny.
Do I think the owners don't care about first responders or wait staff etc? No, but no business or corporation ever does something for nothing. That said other half is in multiple areas now with big discrepancies in wealth and plenty of reach out opportunities to minorites and other underserved communities (NYC/DC), and in an industry known for less than stellar treatment of women and minorities. Hopefully, if only out of self interest, they can self promote AND do some good work in these areas.
To your other point, if they can even source anything right now, I'd happily buy an overpriced teku set of say classic OH beers like SD/ACE/AGE or what-have-you (not a glassware guy AT ALL, only own one received as a gift) if all proceeds went to tipped workers.

I was writing my own post but will add to yours:

    1. why haven’t they retrofitted the canning line yet to produce surgical masks? I don’t understand it

    2. is it just me or is @otherhalfsam notably absent at Cuomo’s daily briefings? as someone in a significant leadership position he needs to be present

    3. I’ll take the employee thing a step further - they should also be sending proceeds to local non-profits like Grimm, Finback etc, as well

    4. maybe this one is a stretch - but as we all know the two trillion dollar stimulus package, once it trickles down to the individual, doesn’t equate to much - maybe OH can step in here?
