Vermont, and I believe some other states, recently passed curbside pick up of draft and bottled beers (to go). Anyone try this yet? Must be some interesting (for the times) stories. Any particular places that are recommended?

Lawson’s, four quarters, and the Bevi all have smooth curbside pick up going. Lawsons even offering 40% to healthcare workers

A majority of RI breweries are offering curbside pickup. The few that require you to exit the car are basically due to physical limitations. Such as Long Live Beerworks: they are located in a pedestrian alley, so beer sales are out of their side window rather than curbside.

Proclamation Ale Co did a great job starting last weekend with the curbside sales, order by 2pm and the order can be picked up anytime between 3-8. Last weekend they gave out 2 free pour coupons to be used when the taproom back open with your first curbside purchase, and then this weekend they gave a 15% case discount. (A case is the maximum amount allowed to purchase under RI law.)

River Roost has very easy curbside pick up for cans. Purchase online and select a pick up time.

I've done Trillium, Tree House, and Vitamin Sea.

Tree House was the most conservative/safest, order online ahead of time, show order # through window and they radio it in. Then you drive to pick up area and the give you thumbs up when you can get out of car and get beer.

Trillium was close, order online beforehand. There you had to roll down window and yell to employee your order #. Then like Tree house you drive to table and your order is there.

Vitamin Sea you have to park and walk to garage doors that are open and they have people to ring you out, so it's no touch. You put your credit card in machine and remove when told, they handle all the touching of screen. They all had gloves on and hand sanitizer right there at register. You did get within 6 feet of someone was the only downside.

    Notch was super easy.

Woke up Saturday and placed a mix case order online from my bed.

Received an e-mail that my order had "shipped". Swung by that afternoon. You walk into their beer garden and there's a table with your last name on your case of beer. There's a tip jar too if you want to tip them.

Walk up, pick up your case and throw it in your trunk. No need to see or interact with anyone.

Grabbed some Swish up at Bissell a little over a week ago. Their system had just got up and running so they brought the credit card machine to my car window and I had to navigate that but I think they want to get rid of that part and have people pay online (may have already happened for all I know...) but then they brought out the beer and asked if I wanted it in the back seat..they then opened the door and put it in. Easiest time I have had buying Swish! I sure hope places stick to online ordering when this is all over, makes things a lot easier and they don't have to worry about the rush at opening...

Lops Brewing in scenic Woonsocket RI. got lucky last week. This Micro only served onsite, no takeout.

They are allowed to sell cans and 32-oz. Growlers now. You can call ahead or order online and pick up your beer, curbside, at the back door. I thought they were going to remain closed for the duration but, laws have adapted, Lops and other breweries have adapted, we all are changing our ways to some degree. Cheers.

Oh and I will be enjoying a growler of their Pilsner tonight.

I doubt that the curbside pickup will outlast the crisis, but I will commend the breweries I have picked up beer from for their response and flexibility ( Tree House, Notch, Trillium). At this point, I don't plan to venture out again until all this clears. I don't have as much beer on hand that I would like, but hopefully this virus will help me reach my weight loss goal! Stay safe folks!

I really hope trilliums beer delivery service or things like it continue. I wouldn’t mind paying an extra fee on top of things to order a day before and guarantee an allotment. Even if they exclude special releases For delivery to drive taproom sales that’s fine with me. Having a couple cases of core beers without having to go to the middle of nowhere canton or brave seaport parking sounds like a dream. Would love to see some others pick it up.

I've had good experiences with pickups at Aeronaut, Winter Hill Brewing, and Idle Hands over the past 3 weeks.

Aeronaut has pre-purchase online and a fully-no contact process outside their front door across a picnic table. The server sprayed down every can/bottle with disinfectant before sliding them across the table to you.

Winter Hill Brewing is allowing one person in the shop at a time to pick up. And they gave me the option of sliding my own card and handling the touch screen for me. No advance purchase. The fried chicken/BBQ pickup here is amazing food and a great value, but requires an email reservation because they are selling out fast.

Idle Hands has pre-order online and you can request curbside service. I opted to go inside the brewery. The order was pre-packed in a box and the door was propped open so I didn't have to touch anything except my purchase. My only quibble with Idle Hands was that I was not able to tip the servers while purchasing online so I had to leave a cash tip.

I have to imagine I looked like Travolta in Pulp Fiction when I showed up Sat afternoon and stood around for someone to check my ID or order number. Nope, just find your name and walk out.

A tip jar isn't the best way to "handle" things during this time. It should be dealt with electronically.

It’s not, but this was their first weekend. Maybe they’ll add that online.

And from everything I’ve read they’re doing a better job at keeping customer interaction to a minimum (virtually none) than most other places.

I haven’t done curbside but all the places in Portland are doing that and delivery, which I’ve done a good amount. Peter and Noah Bissell personally delivered a case of Swish to my house the other day. Crazy times we’re living in folks.
