The wife's a craft beer freak too and we split everything. She'll grab a bottle from the cellar to bring to her job and share with co-workers every now and then too. I didn't make it out for any harpooning over the last few days. I pulled my back yesterday morning and have been out of it. But, I'm going to try the Lukas release today and hope to grab a bottle for a tasting next week.

I love the beer scene, but some of these releases have gotten out of hand.

I'm seriously considering going to Lukas not to buy any Cantillon, but to watch the ensuing hilarity while I buy some Bruery and Brown Shugga.

Ironic. I'm not upset nor invested in this at all. I just think it's ridiculous for people to continue to "vent frustration" after the store addresses the situation in about the best way possible short of "here let me conjure up some FF for you."

No way. Come one. You don't like BAs coming up with business models for liquor stores? Get outta here :-)

That's brewery prices right there. They're marked up at liquor stores just blocks away from the brewery.

    True. . . (beer wise).

But I am a far right conservative, and Constitution aside, I could care less where someone was born, so long as they are the best person for the job.

    This.
There's a lot more that goes on in a liquor store than selling beer. Sometimes you order a beer and it MAY show up next week or next month with no warning. Sometimes they show up when the beer man isn't there :astonished:

Perhaps the price of the Cants' should go up. After all, there is certainly a case for supply and demand. Plus, what are these beers worth? Is it worth all the hubbub that stores go through? All the bashing they receive, the phone calls? If not, then the price should go up. I'm surprised it hasn't by now.

Argo got their allotment of classic, st-Lam and st-Gill this morning. 1 bottle limit of course. Not sure if any made it to the shelves. Still-cold Pliny is on the shelf as well...didn't see any of the new Bruery stuff out yet but lots of stocking was going on.

I would like to vent more frustration, not directed at anyone. So I had called Argonaut and visited Argonaut twice in the last two days, both times people in the beer department said "it will hit the shelves when it arrives" only to return today and have them say "you needed to be on the waitlist, they should have taken your name & number" which I had known previously due to the last shipment in August... (which is fine) so shot myself in the foot. Glad I didn't play powerball with my luck recently, lol.

Anyhow, Argonaut is sold out and it never hit shelves, just had to call and be put on waitlist and wait for a callback.

I'm over it. Going to enjoy River North tonight, Zwanze Day tomorrow and homebrewing on Sunday and probably have some great beers along the way. (and just ordered some from Belgium)

Just out of curiosity though if anyone goes to Lukas take a picture  Would love to hear how that scenario turned out.

Went by Lukas at 330, the line was already to the middle isle by the wine. Gonna be some people leaving empty handed.

Between that and this thread, me thinks I will be skipping the circus at Crooked Stave maƱana. It's gonna be a shit show of biblical porportions no matter how well organized it is. Might check out the Chancellor at Wynkoop.
