I did see that today. I hope your 2018 puga royale bottles are good...because the one I just had was not bad. What a pity, when fresh it was so good.

 

Yeah, it was super good when fresh. I had it in my fridge since day 1 of pickup, so I know it's not storage issues.

If they didn't have such a terrible track record the last few years, I would gamble on some of those bottles. I did reach out to them , and would gladly accept a replacement bottle. Wasn't fun to drainpour a $25 bottle.

 

I want to hangar last night on the way out to the desert to wait till a traffic accident cleared. was surprised to see all kinds of puga variants for sale to go. including royale

 

Yeah because they're not good. Quality dropped off a cliff years ago..

If it's the same one they're selling in their online store it's 2018.

 

I bet if I mixed Hersheys chocolate syrup into a glass of bourbon it would taste better than Royale.

 

2010-2012 i really liked this brewery. They had some decent to very nice IPA's. I recall they had a double that was delicious. My wife loved the Orange Wheat. I don't think I've bought any beer from them in at least 5-7 years.

 

I was in their Barrel Roll program for the first few years before eventually dropping it due to better options and mounting QC issues. They recently discontinued their barrel aging program (or at least cut it 90%) to focus on light lagers with american flag labels, promotional videos of dirt bike riders, and terrible implementations of trendy styles (truly some of the worst hazies and berliners I have ever had). Last time I was there (Redlands) there was a pack of motorcycle riders freshly back from the Sturgis SD motorcycle rally that was the huge COVID hot spot...
