Yeah, say what you will about Cuomo, but he's hugely instrumental in what's happened with craft beer in this state and that's continued through this pandemic. Letting breweries and beer bars stay open as 'essential businesses,' as well as letting them deliver, do curbside pickup, etc. It's been as good as can be under the circumstances.

And I'm probably drinking the same amount but the other day I'm like, WTF, how am I plowing through my beer fridge so quickly I'm only drinking like 3-4 days a week? Then I remembered that normally half of those 3-4 days were typically spent at bars or breweries and not going through my home stash. Gonna have to re-up very soon.

Similarly, I noticed my recycling bin was a lot more full than normal the other day as I was dragging it down the driveway to the curb the other morning.
"Damn....I must really be drinking a lot lately ...Oh, yeah, that's right."

Animated Brewing Company's brewpub opened this past week in Valley Township, Chester County. I've attached their website.

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus, there is only takeout service available (see website). Hope you have an opportunity to visit and sample some of the brews!!

Ashton Brewing in Middlesex, NJ (took over the building from the closed Demented) officially opened yesterday. Saw in IG they were offering takeout of their beer. Very close to me so I hope they turn out to be a great addition to our local NJ scene.

Drowned Lands opened up in Warwick, NY...They are selling cans on Saturdays from 12:00-6:00...picked some up yesterday and what I tried was good. Looks like a cool place from the outside.

I don't know Richard, not a very inspiring list, for me anyway, but hey, they sold out their first weekend so good on them.

I heard about these guys from their first can release last month. I've only had the collab they did with D96, and it was unsurprisingly good since NEIPA is D96's wheelhouse. I would have loved to hit the release today, but my beer fridge is already fully stocked and my wife wants me to limit going outside.

How is their stuff? They have a number of foeders and their releases seem to suggest their not just another IPA factory. I really like their can art too.

The only thing I had this weekend was Green Yield, a NE style IPA...damn good. I purchased a 4 pack of the sour IPA and the Saison, but haven't tried them yet

Tom, as I understand it was a good news, bad news situation this past weekend. Apparently, they used all 270 crowlers last weekend which represented their initial order and was made long before the virus-related takeout only option to purchase beer was put into effect. Hopefully, they don't have to wait too long to receive they're larger new order for crowlers, but I assume the crowler makers are facing a huge challenge in getting the aluminum sheets for manufacturing the crowlers!

The four brews they initially brewed, represented ones they have previously home brewed and were previously enjoyed by family and friends. So, the game plan was to stay with those same brews in the beginnings and hopefully not only family and friends will enjoy, buy hopefully their new neighbors and future clientele will as well. I think their plan worked. I understand they plan to hire a full time experienced brewer. Interested???

Ha, don't think I fit the bill, especially with the enforced sobriety. Besides, I think it would be in my best interest to ride out my current situation. It ain't a bad gig.

My wife and I took advantage of the to go availability from them last weekend. If the first 2 were any indication, I think they'll do well. I had Sum Sum, a bitter, and I thought it was very good. The other was Dutch, a Belgian. Again, I thought it represented the style well. We may try a couple of the other offerings this week too. I'm hoping they will do some barleywines and stouts to see how they fare with those styles.

Ashton announced today they are doing deliveries within a 5 mile radius. I'm just outside of it, unfortunately. Glad to hear they're off to a good start. Might swing by soon and pick up some of that Bitter.

Yes, we are inside the radius, but in reality, it's easy enough to just jump in the car and go grab it. We may try a couple of the other ones this weekend. I see they have a stout listed too.

    Hot damn with this place.

Tried their saison today (really more of a grisette at 4.2 but it's not my job to classify beer) and couldn't have been more impressed. Also saw a buddy of mine who owns a local bar singing the praises of their IPAs.

Cannot wait to check these guys out in person once this all blows over.

They posted on their IG that they are sending their cans out for some local distro. My bottle shop is included on the list, so I'm pretty excited.

good for them. that basement looks tight! doesn't appear to be room to expand, or get bigger fermenters height wise...

    Finally have some fucking updates!

    1) Bye-I in Cohoes is all set with licenses, will start pouring growlers very soon. And if all goes well in re-opening NYS, their taproom should be open mid-June.

    2) Tin Barn has their equipment in and it looks like they'll be doing their first canning run sometime soon.

    3) Nothing official but based on pictures, Foreign Objects' new spot is either ready to go or REAL close once the HV opens back up.

    4) There's a Belgian nano-brewery called Obscure Oscillation Brewing and they're based in Poughkeepsie that has apparently been around since last year. No taproom from the looks of it but their social media says they're doing growler or bottle deliveries. If you live up that way and like Belgian shit check 'em out for sure, a tiny place like that really needs help at a time like this.

I've never heard these dudes be mentioned at all in the POK beer scene. Shooting them a message now to see how I can acquire their beer.

Shot them a FB message, and they responded pretty quickly. I ended up talking on the phone with them. It's apparently a really small 2 man operation, and right now due to covid they're just doing deliveries. They offered to come to my house, pick up my empty growlers, fill them, and drive them back. They only have 2 beers available right now - doppelbock and a saison. I'll report back once I've had them.
