Other Half (2020)

I got the All Together from Carton Wed since I am very close by. At first sip I thought it was only okay but as it warmed it got a lot better. very Carton-esque take on the beer, excited to see what my other local places do with it and tempted to get some of OHs version delivered to my GF if they have her zip code added at that point. I def miss being able to get OH, Grimm, Finback and so on at my leisure

 

Well unless you're lying to keep it all for yourself I guess I'm going to avoid Galaxy IPAs from Other Half when things resume normally. If it means anything I have a triple Galaxy IPA from little log cabin/tired hands.... It's pretty good, a bit boozy, hint of vegetal but didn't taste like radishes. Definitely had some Stone fruit. So not all Galaxy is bottom barrel. Still hard to believe it's just their brewing practices. Can't imagine the wildfires helped either this past year to ensure greater quality or supply.

 

Is OH still offering curbside pickup? If so where do you order? Not seeing it on their site

 

yes but they changed things around and it’s not so clear. need to go to “store” from main menu then select curbside once you’re in there

Just picked up the new batches of SD and ACE. Cracked an SD and wasn't wowed like some previous batches and it does have kind of a metalic taste on the front (which fades after the first few sips), but def enjoyable.

 

I’m an SD guy but opted to double up on ACE instead today. Just a far more consistent beer.

Grabbed another Green City as well. My three favorite Other Half beers (4th Anniversary not included) all released in the same week. Crazy

 

ACE?? Was this announced on IG? How did I miss it?! Just finished my last can from the pre-lockdown batch. Seriously, are they not posting all their beers on IG now? Color me confused.

Yeah these days I have been frequenting the Square (curbside pickup) site. It appears to even tell the future; that ACE and SD batch was unlisted as of early this morning. Probably all sold to delivery orders.

Haha I was chuckling about that myself.

 

Guys there’s a logical explanation.

1. Had a couple beers with dinner.
2. Played poker with the boys via zoom/party poker combo.
3. Had an incredibly strong gin and tonic, followed by another beer while playing.
4. That took me to “good idea joint” level of semi-inebriation. To be clear this is not the same as “bad idea joint” drunkenness, but it is never a good idea per se.
5. Very high. Had munchies for more ACE. Found every poker hand hilarious/fascinating.
6. Finished poker (came 3rd).
7. Thought would be good idea to play new COD. Had to persuade super hot wife this was a good idea.
8. Because in the modern console era the concept of turning it on, slapping in a cartridge/disc, and playing doesn’t exist, I had to endure a 90 min update to punish me for not playing in ~3 weeks.
9. Fell asleep about one minute into update.
10. Woke up at 3am, checked BA, went to bed.
