Is there a problem with the BBB cans?

I got this response from Tavour.

"We were made aware of this a few days back. Since then we have reached out to our contacts at Epic Brewing to get their comments on this.

They let us know that the batch that we received was not infected. We are doing our own testing just to make sure. If there is any sort of a recall, the people who bought this beer will be informed and reimbursed accordingly."

I did contact Epic and got this response

"Thanks for reaching out. We're aware of the issue and are already working with Tavour to make it right."

Epic did not address the bottle I have that I know is infected so I asked again about it Friday morning and again yesterday. No response from Epic on that bottle.

The bottle that I have that I am sure is infected is from release 3, the bottle from Tavour is release 11.

Exactly. They obviously have a problem, they know they have a problem however they are not responding.

    Yeah that’s lame..
I don’t buy a lot of their beer, but I’ll certainly consider this going forward.

I think it's funny that so many bottles of this are still sitting on shelves at liquor stores across the entire South Metro right now. It looks like Davidson's just got a drop of 18 Baptista and quadruple Barrel Baptist. Godspeed fellas, Godspeed

Update,. Still no update, Epic continues to ignore their infection problem. I will give them a few more days and then I will post appropriate reviews!

I bought a good amount of Epic when they first arrived in MN around 2011/2012. They make good beers, but after a fair amount of this infection nonsense, I gave up on them. Doesn't sound like much has changed in the intervening years.

I had a bottle of the Quintuple last week and it was fine and dandy.

I can't wait to smash some baptist down the hatch this weekend. I'm being a good boy and doing no weekday booze despite the time at home. Craving the big stouts as we get a resurgence of winter in SLC.

As a rule I stay away from peanut butter stouts because they all seem to get infected.

Well, since BBB and BBBa were absolutely fantastic, I bit the bullet and ordered Peanut Butter Cup BBB and Quintuple BBB yesterday after finding no reports of infection for them. Fingers crossed, but even though I'd love to save those for the colder season, I'd rather not take the risk and will probably endeavor to drink them soon after they arrive.

Yeah, I drank all of the PBC and Quint I bought. No use taking any chances.

Drank a Chocolate Rapture last night & drinking the Hazelnut Vanilla Latte tonight. Neither seem completely infected but the flavors are odd/off. Not a drain pour but something definitely off. Still sitting on a Peanut Butter, Vanilla Brandy & Quintuple. Not feeling great about that.

Sounds like an early-stage infection, will definitely be drinking mine ASAP now, for this NBS, actually. Of course, now that I've ordered them I'm starting to see reports of infection on untapped, although mainly for the early releases, so I may still be in luck...

Regardless of how these turn out, this is the last time I buy anything from Epic, these infections are just getting way too common with them. The last time I was still willing to give them another chance, but this seems to be getting the norm, rather than an exception, and I'm sick of playing a 20€ lottery with their stouts. Especially since they seem unwilling to refund people as well.

Do you guys bitch and moan when your strawberries spoil before you decide to eat them? Do you take them back to the store after they have been in your crisper for a month and demand your money back? Beer is perishable. It has a shelf life and so do the adjuncts that are in it. You saved it and didnt drink it fresh. That's on you guys.
