I suspect it has more to do with building the Bitburger brand in the USA, with something distributors/stores/customers would want, than anything to do with the German market.

I was just being a little silly.
With @Snowcrash000 having no luck at six different stores from the chain that would be carrying this new product, there's some humor in the notion that "it's not selling well."

I would agree that this was probably brewed mainly for export purposes. It may still make its way into some of the getränkemarkts eventually though. Took a while for Braupakt as well.

@Snowcrash000, not to jack the thread too much but are any US breweries well known among the average german beer consumer? I was trying to think of any German brewers that your average US consumer would know and was thinking maybe Hofbrau? they have their chain over here at least.

The average consumer knows what's in American movies and on the supermarket shelves and that's AALs, Budweiser and Miller, for the most part. Of course the Czech Budweiser is much more common than the American Budweiser, which is branded as "Bud" here, in Germany but I honestly doubt that the average consumer can tell the difference when it comes to brand recognition. "Budweiser" is what's in American movies, so people will associate the Czech "Budweiser" with it, rather than "Bud", which is also much less common.

Nice little beer and seasonally appropriate. Don’t let yourself expect an IPA based on the triple hop’d moniker. Certainly more of a pale ale - hopwise- than an ipa. Only criticism is that they owe me another .8 oz per can. Kidding. Kind of.

I think that's a footed Pilsner glass. They served the Bitburger Pils draft in those glasses when I was over in Germany. I loved that glass, and the way the beer looked/tasted in it.

Some amazing head on this beer in various pictures.

Made it to Houston end of last week, found it at local HEB grocery. Grabbed a six pack and had one Friday night. Was not disappointed. Pretty much what I expected and wanted from this beer.

I love when a new beer comes out and its already 3 mos old, makes zero sense to me as to why they choose to do this. Regardless of style and how it holds up, why not offer it as fresh as possible. I have yet to see it but if its from Jan I am passing, to me its just silly to allow product to sit.

Wasn't this one made in Germany? Hence the 11oz can?

I am not sure where the cans are made for the US market. I would think due to cost they would produce all US ones here. To me it would make no sense to can them and ship to the states, seems like a major cost.

Dang, I would have figured they ran the US batches here to save on costs. Thanks for info :beers:

Whatever it is, I want one. I love glasses like that. I have a Kroneburg one that is more squat and wider, but it's elegant and works nicely with Pilsners and Helles

If you don't call the glassware by the correct name, the beer doesn't taste as good out of it.
