More Brewing (2020)

I've noticed this too currently. Beers are selling out waaaay faster than they used to.

 

Saw Open Bottle had More cans this week.

 

The distributor More went with up here doesn't sign contracts. Could be a one time thing or a pandemic thing or an ongoing thing. I'm sure they're just trying to sell MoRE beer. We're not going to steal all of it. No worries mate.

 

Got to get beer to people sheltering out the pandemic at their summer homes.

Did they bring their boats?

 

I already have to drive to Wisconsin for golf starting Friday; I guess I can kill two birds with one stone and pick up some More beers as well

I was always under the impression the Huntley facility was going to be a huge uptick in production with the intent to distribute. Maybe COVID made that a little quicker, but I feel like this is just gonna be the new norm now - them distributing. Maybe not to Tavour or Wisconsin, but I'd expect to see them regularly available going forward. Just my guess.

 

They were (I thought smartly) rolling it out by doing can and draft releases at craft shops this winter and early spring. I thought that was a smart way to build those partnerships as opposed to just shipping product to stores.

 

Yeah, that's true - kind of forgot about the random one-off drops you'd see on my (beer-dominated) Instagram account. Especially draft, they were at Green Lady, Beer Temple, Open Bottle it seemed like quite a bit on draft in the late fall and winter.

 

I thought Huntley was in Wisconsin?

 

You can keep Huntley but I will take Hebron.

Chula is awesome. They nailed this I love it. Haven’t cracked Frooted yet.

I ended up talking to Sunny a bit, great guy. Gave the wife, our son and I a tour when we went there to eat right before the shutdowns. Sounds like they will be releasing a number of beers in the next week or two.

Ill be frequenting Huntley for pickups, not a bad scenic drive for us. Glad they are able to keep producing beer and there were some cars in the parking lot that appeared to be grabbing food too. Still an absolute shame to see that new facility just sit there empty.

 

Sad I missed out on chula went super fast.

 

Chula was pretty good. Gotta love that mango! I was pretty hesitant going in because chile beers always have off flavors that turn me off from the beer. The chile spice was subtle and excellently blended with the rest of the beer.

Hush of Night: Chicago City was my other grab. Maybe I'm crazy, but it absolutely blew me away. One of the best coffee stouts I've had and I drink a lot of them. Total shock & surprise. Perhaps the 3F's Dreadnaught I drank prior had me feeling pretty good to give anything a glowing review. I'm fairly local so I'm returning for another pack today for more research.

 

More has a new TIPA w/ honey and lager to go in 4-packs.

 

I can't believe it took them less than 3 months to name a beer Sun City.
