Cleaning up my desk, doing boring filing, drinking a fine IPA - Elysian’s “Space Dust”:

Bottled (I think, the brewer is sadly not up front with dates on the packaging ) April 4, 2020...

Crystal clear deep gold pour at 51 degrees; large 3 fingers mixed bubbles, white head; long cap retention; heavy lacing with heavy ring. Citrus nose - orange, tangerine, lemons; tropical fruit - pineapple, guava right behind. Taste is bitter grapefruit rind, orange, tangerine and Meyers lemons; pineapple, guava; some pine; semi sweet malt base. Medium lite body; moderate carbonation; no hop astringency. Overall, super easy drinking - lite bitter linger from citrus hops; nice.

[IMG] The 4 year Anniversary from this fine local brewery and it is dynamite at 8.4. Pours an attractive hazy yellow orange with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin webs of lace with excellent retention. 4.5

Smell is ripe melon, papaya, tangerine, blueberry, and apricot really balanced nothing taking over. 4.5

Taste follows cantaloupe, papaya, and tangerine immediately grab your palate, with hints of blueberry and a healthy dose of apricot and grapefruit in the bold, but balanced finish. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, soft gentle sticky carbonation, and at 8.4% a ton of flavor but really easy drinking. 4.5

Overall this is excellent, very impressed with this one. If you see it grab it. 4.5

I've got this one in my fridge - pulling it out in May to celebrate an anniversary with the wife! One of my favorites.

    Cheers!

Good afternoon, BAs. Another walk in, and today's birds of prey, those stone cold killers:

One of our eagles was up - not sure if it is one of the young ones since its head doesn't appear "bald" white (yet). That and what we're quite sure was a turkey vulture, closer to home. Stone cold killers, these...

Well, I guess the one isn't quite a "killer" per se - it relies on others for that.

And this isn't quite a "killer" either, but close in a certain way, von Trapp's Keller lager:

I think that's the best stout for the money in the business. Just a mouthful of flavors and dangerously easy drinking. I have one that I muled up from Cigar City in 2019. I've been saving it, but you might have inspired me to open it. Cheers.

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz Nordic pint glass canned on 4/2/20. Pours a very hazy orange yellow with a half finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace all over the place. 4.25

Smell is getting some lime immediately, lemon, apricot, orange, and grapefruit rind. 3.75

Taste follows lime, lemon, orange rind, apricot, and grapefruit in the rather bitter finish really lingers after each sip. 3.75

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, sticky and a little dry, soft gentle life, and at 8.7% this thing is loaded with flavor. 4.25

Overall this is nice, one of the bolder and more bitter NEDIPAs I have had in awhile, but I actually like it. Nice to have a change of pace these days. 4

Got 3 Subway wraps using the online app and a gift card. Starting with the Subway club with provolone and honey mustard. I am really hungry. Got steak and cheese, and buffalo chicken for later.

Bell's Two Hearted. Fantastic as always. Aromas and flavors of huge ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-plus body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resin/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringent. Very smooth/soft, not aggressive, minimal warming 7%. Amazing Centennial showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized balancing bready Vienna/pale malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on Midwest style IPA. Prefer the Founders Centennial more, but love both. Just as impressive as the Double as well. Will keep it in the fridge more often!

Well done with work for the next 3 days at least. Was so pissed off a few weeks ago I requested off and said I was going to be out of town. All the essential businesses are open and you are what you eat. Meatball marinara and a pipeworks beer. Not sure if walk or nap time
