I think Fat Heads wants to sell as much beer as they can as fast as they can to keep positive cash flow and the lights on. We should all be happy they sold out so quick as it shows the community is supporting them and they can continue to brew and sell great beer.

Fat Heads AND Platform?? (Back when Speed Merchant was unstoppable I assume. Or when Ralph from Terrestrial was there too)

No wonder the dude is the Midas of German style beers. I thought he was just ex-Platform. This explains a lot.

I’ll start by saying that this Touch of Green is probably up there with the Canton MoSmash for my favorite handful of ipas Fat Heads has brewed, and this batch of Ju Ju is on another level. That being said, did anyone notice the canned dates for both? 3/11 and 3/12. Only makes them more impressive if true. Curious though since the World Beer Cup was scheduled for 2 weeks from now.

The deadline for beer samples to be judged for World Beer Cup was March 9 to March 13th. So, true. But still odd they held them from the public for a month. But the two brews (2x touch of green and 2x strange magic) I was able to get cans of are awesome!

The post above said Super Juicy Juju was being distributed to NE Ohio, but we got it in Columbus as well. This is my first time trying it and, I've got say, I think regular is better.

Production brewery release of Hazy 8 today. Imperial IPA. Commercial description: “Ripe mango, pineapple and orange flavors. Slight grapefruit and mild bitterness. 8% ABV 70 IBU.” Limited district next week.

Also saw labels for small run cans of Alpha Ambush and Bone Head! So those are likely coming soon!!

Bone Head is now available at the brewery in crowler or growler. I’m going tomorrow to get beer and some chow.

So next on the release calendar is a Metroparks Beer of a style that is still TBD. Any speculation on this?

While FH has their cans fuckin’ DIALED IN as all hell right now, I was sadly reminded that they don’t distribute enough of their dark beers, and with the 2020 casualties of Bean Me Up and Sorcerer from the lineup, the calendar looks pretty “vanilla”, as it were.

I know that hoping the Metroparks beer will be some shit like a Schwarzbier is really shooting for the moon, but a young man can dream.

On a different note, Head Hunter and Strange Magic have never tasted better than they do in fresh cans, though. Like truly world-class. I feel blessed to be in the heart of their footprint.

This is just my take but, unfortunately, we may have to throw out the release calendar at this point. I think unscheduled canning and retail distribution for beers like Juicy JuJu and Hazy 8s show that. Everything has changed with no on premise and, even though I’d love a crispy lager, I wouldn’t blame them for continuing to push out whatever sells at retail and can get quickly from the kettle to the tank to the line to the shelf to cash back into the business. I think the fact Starlight died on the shelves last year may be an unfortunate indication lagers just don’t pay the bills.

Also, full list of limited cans dropping soon:
    • Bonehead Red
    • Midnight Moonlight
    • Alpha Ambush
    • Springfest
No word on if these will be distributed. All WBC entries.

As far as the replacement for Trail Head, many, including me, have speculated that Mill Stream Lager would be the replacement, considering that Mill Stream Run is a Metroparks reservation. But I also agree with @jampics2’s comment. Maximum revenue may drive their decisions.
I’m content with the fact that whatever they release, the quality is top notch.
Edit: If they released Black Knight in cans, I’d buy a case.

I had a crowler of the Midnight and it was insane. I could have bought a keg.

I also bought waaay more Springfest than the others. Psyched for all of them honestly! FYI Masthead dropped a new Vienna and Pils today, and Summer Teeth should hit in cans next week. Good time to be a lager drinker in NEO!
