Kane Brewing (2020)

haha! last week I got the text it was on the way and I was working then I happened to walk over to my living room and I was like wtf someone is outside my door and it was the kane delivery and I was just like wow that was fast haha

Party Wave has been my jam since it first was on tap at Kane, I happened to be close that day and went to try it. 2 batches ago right as the state locked down was INSANE, this batch I had 2 cans and the didn't seem as good, but I am going to let them sit a bit and revisit it! Still great, just wasn't as amazing as that prior one!

 

Had one last night. I thought it was solid. Pretty much in line with the other DDH SBs I’ve had. Didn’t get much of what people have been describing with Strata, but I never had the best palate for discerning hops.

 

got my delivery like an hour ago. while I can't wait to enjoy a beer in the taproom, this is awesome.
Also got a 4pack of Overhead after people were talking about it here. OG Overhead was great, super graprefruit and pine forward. Last time I had it was a few years ago, one of the taproom people I made friends with told me to give it a try b/c the batch was great and she was right. Curious to see how this is now.

Talking of DIPA at Kane, anyone remember A Space to Fill from like fall 2017? I remember drinking that and saying I wish this is what Overhead was.. maybe this new style overhead will be that wish!

 

Was just going to post that from my delivery, Overhead was the best of all the hoppy beers. In fact, drinking the last OH can now.

 

I remember loving A Space to Fill. They released it alongside Across the Galaxy which I remembered liking also. Makes me realize how many really good one-offs Kane released through the years.

The other beer on IG was Sideshore not Ripple. Unless I also missed something.

 

IIRC they brewed A Space to Fill w Mikkeller but it was never advertised as a collab? The story was that he was supposed to go to Omnipollo, but something happened w his flight. He ended up at Kane. That’s 2nd hand info, but my source was/is reliable. Anyway, I hope they revisit that or some of those other one offs. Or maybe bring back Afterglow? Or can a Saison again?

 

Yeah I was a few beers in at that point and was thinking of ripple.

 

hahaha happens to all of us...when I read it I went to instagram site and kane direct to check cause I would’ve loved for it to be true.

 

I just would love to know why ocean county gets no love with the archival bottles. Every other delivery area has gotten ba brunch or bells. Ocean had just had the anniversarys and picture in reverse. Great beers for sure but definitely less desirable the ba bean morning bell.

 

I wonder if its true, you would think if they really brewed it together why not mention it at all. Perhaps it was one of those, Kane had the recipe and plan to brew it that day and he happened to be there as well? Either way that beer was great.

 

Can you go to the brewery and pick up the archive bottles or is that delivery only?

That is the frustration. Typically i just go to kane to pick stuff up as northern ocean is only 20 minutes away and kane's set up is pretty damn safe. But the archive stuff can only be delivered. It makes sense to prevent a line from showing up outside of kane just needs to spread out the good stuff a bit.

 

I skipped out on BA morning bell due to some of the lackluster assessments here. Wish I could’ve sent some your way, somehow. Might pop that picture in reverse tonight

 

Different reasons same result, for me it was a single bottle at 15$ of an extra four pack of the dry hopped sneakbox. Sneakbox it was.

 

I loved the ba bells this past release. Usually prefer the base. Regardless i am hoping it is all a crapshoot and not some intelligent design.
