Exactly. Figure you’re a couple so you’re buying the limit, which doubles your allotment. Let’s say 6 total: one to split, one to cellar, if so inclined, leaving four to trade/sell. Selling those four gets your money back then some. Not to mention that very few Hill releases are a limit total versus a limit per person per day so one person/couple could really turn it into something while still abiding by the limits.

Don't fret, you all. I notified the SEC...they're on it. Although if one of you would also alert the FBI we can really make a difference.

So I paid my buddy who lives in East Burke a couple hundred to buy me some HF and pick it up. Yes I have FOMO. But come on... Edward in CANS.

Anyway he got there at about 11:45 and said there were 15 cars there. He counted two NY plates, two Mass plates, and one Connecticut plate. I'm not one to judge but I'm guessing not every one of those people have been in Vermont for 14 days.

Whatever. I paid a guy $200 to get me beer so I can't say too much but still.

At our lake house in VT every other driveway has NY/MA etc plates for the last 6 weeks. Can “work from home” and “home school” from anywhere.

Nothing wrong with you enlisting a VT resident friend, imo.

As for the out of staters, would love to read their explanation of circumstances in the special instructions section of the order page. I’m sure none of these people have been quarantining in VT for 14 days.

I know Hill can’t and won’t police it all due to staff limitations and wanting to sell beer during this time, but I find people ignoring the state guidelines to be awful. Again, see my post above, #378.

I learned a lot more people than I thought cannot survive this thing without their.......coconut beer.

Good on you with the Edward buy. Very exciting. Can you please save a can for after 5/15? Found it curious that it was date stamped with “expires on 5/15/20” with only a 10 day window versus 6 weeks, I believe, for their other hop forward beers.

I was wondering about that too. Do you think it is because this was beer that was supposed to be kegged for restaurants that was switched to canning to sell inventory?

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to be such a hot commodity.

Likely/possibly. Armsby has had it on for fills for a bit. So if the same batch, then being canned yesterday, maybe it’s only 10 days out from that 6 week standard window and that seems in line with your reasoning.

I got four 4 packs so I'll have at least a few past that date hahaha.

Anyway I'm drinking one now and it's absolutely turbid. Still tastes like Edward but just thought it was interesting.

I laughed quite a bit at that Facebook thread. Not only her entitlement, but then there were a couple Vermonters straight up yelling at people who even thought about trying to go up. I wonder how they feel now that there's a seemingly parade of out of staters picking up?

Shaun's really in a no win here, and I truly feel for him. He's gotta sell product to keep paying staff, and presumably to keep it from occupying storage. But, it's also Hill Farmstead, and despite him putting faith that people will do the right thing, his beer is more than beer to some people, as evidenced by the first curbside "limited" offerings.

God help us all if he releases a Double Barrel Damon, or something similar.

Well they apparently can't post limits on the ordering page so whatever limited release would get bought out by 1-2 people, just like the recent Flora and Pliny growlers.

My feeling is if you truly enjoy Hill Farmstead beer, you won't give a flying fuck about no limits on "limited" beer during this time. I don't care if one person buys them all, so long as Hill is selling product. I'd like my kids to be able to go back to school in the fall, so I think I'm okay with hanging home and missing a goddamn Flora release.

The truth is, there really isn't anything else open or anything else to do anyways. It seems crazy to get in your car drive 3 hours to get beer, turn around and drive back home, but to each their own. Luckily, in that scenario, there is minimal opportunity for infecting others, other than stopping for gas.

Yelling, arguing, name-calling, are not productive in this situation. We should be appealing to folks to use their common-sense, no matter where they live.

Oh I don't care either. It's helping them regardless. Was just saying that I don't think a limited release would cause too much of an issue.

if anything COVID has made the thought of long drives just for beer more enticing.
