I remember seeing that one last year but I didn't like the Okto, so I passed. Probably should have bitten the bullet for the Vienna.
What are you doing that for? We have too many others doing it already!

My first time having it was from that Fall pack in 2014 as well. I don't recall seeing it in bottles before that but it's certainly possible. Seems like pre-2014 reviews were sporadic and note it being a draft version.

I could be mistaken, but I believe that's just the unchanged description of last year's collab with this year's label displayed above it on the website. Given that Bitburger isn't on the label at all, I'm inclined to believe they're not collaborating with anyone this year, as was suggested earlier in this thread. I imagine they'll update the text from last year's closer to the release date.

Wonder what the whole story is? Same collab 2 years in a row is sort'a a cop out. Maybe it's a new recipe? I mean, I hope it's a new recipe.

Check the little logo toward the bottom of the label, isn't that the Bit mark?

*I see it's not -- my leftover bottle from last year has the little Bitburger guy with the Pils glass inside that oblong mortice.

I don't think so? I'm not sure what the mark actually is, but it's not the Bitburger one used last year, which I've pasted below for comparison:

Yeah, I saw that image on their site when this thread started... I was hoping that it's a case of a temporary photoshop job until they create an actual label... not that it makes sense to combine this image edit with the old unedited description (which one would expect to be the easier of the two elements to modify).

Haven't we heard from SierraTerrence that the folks in charge of the web site aren't full time? And (as it's been pointed out) it's far from Oktoberfest time. I still haven't seen Summerfest in my area.

A post from earlier in this thread said there would be no collab so it could be a case of the site not being updated like @steveh said:

    Sierra Nevada 2020 Oktoberfest Collaboration??

Unless something changed due to the Triple Hop'd collab?

I mean, I imagine traveling to Germany to brew right about now is a no go ... so its either don't collaborate or re-brew one they already did ...

So you think there’s a chance Sierra Nevada doesn’t knock it out of the park on their own? Not gonna’ lie... I’m skeptical of their ability to swing and miss. If ever there was a brewery that batted 1.000, it’s SN in my book.

Or come up with a new recipe? They *are* professional brewer's, after all.

Last year they had uploaded the new label before updating the specs for the beer and I somehow failed to pick up on them being identical to the previous year's. This year's no different it seems. They will update the specs and spiel in due time I bet.

I remember Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest from 2014 before they started doing the collaborations because I drank a lot of it that year (and still have my review to jog my memory). It was good but pretty full bodied and not something I could drink several of in a row. With a few tweaks, and hopefully using some knowledge they've picked up from doing the collabs, I have no doubt they could make an excellent version on their own.

Weedy, did you ever drink their Brut IPA of 2019!?!

    Cheers!

Based on what they've said, it sounds like they are coming up with their own new recipe. I was just saying that if they decided to redux last year, I would have been shocked.

Can't say I did. That said, I hate the Brut IPA "style" so I wouldn't have tried it even if it was available. I can also say that I did brew one as part of an agreement for collaborating with the winner of a homebrew competition and that my own version was admittedly a swing and a miss as well.
