I recognize some avatars from when I first joined the site and think of them as white whale trading OGs. I don't care what a person's avatar is. It's the ones who don't have one that I worry about.

Btw I find it kinda ironic that @Snowcrash000 is pro-communist and is also also a moderator here. What do they call the BA version of the KGB/NKVD, anyway?

(all in good fun, Snowcrash! Please don’t ban me/haul me off to the gulag:wink:)

I believe my avatar pic is from '08 at 'Choice City Butcher & Deli' in Fort Collins, CO.

If you've ever seen me out, it's most likely been in a bar or brewpub and I'm scribbling beerfly (place) notes with 5 different colored Pilot Precise Rolling Ball V5 Extra Fine pens bundled together in a rubberband (I can see black, green, & purple in this pic, the others may not have survived the flight out to this GABF as the altitude sometimes make them explode).

Well, it's not a communist avatar, where does it say "Long live communism, comrade" on it? It's simply anti-capitalist. Hope that clears things up.

I wasn’t expecting you to answer my joke in earnest, but I really do appreciate the clarification. Not communist, just anti-capitalist. Got it.

Love the rhetorical question though; I pretty well-deserved that one for teasing ya

My avatar is of a pint glass half full, or less than half full, depends on your perspective.
An avatar is a quick way to recognize posts that I know I'll want to read.
    Cheers!

Contemplating all the avatars I have used, including numerous ones for my anonymous personae, the ones associated with pudgym29 vary as to the interest of the forum in which it appears.
    I could quite easily switch over this image to one of any number of glasses of beer, but have not. When I first registered for BA, I had a photo I self-took [timer mode] at Lunar Brewing in Villa Park, IL.; on an afternoon when I did not expect to go there. {PM me for specifics.}
This avatar is there for symmetry. It was also taken at Lunar Brwg. ten years later. That other photo is still in use on other fora.
This avatar doesn't affect me here on BA. Were you to query about my avatar on the Vintage Erotica Forum; that would get a more distinctive answer.

I tend to switch mine after I've taken a new photo that turned out well. But they are all the same theme.

Beautiful yellow warbler! I’m an amateur birder myself. Where do you typically like to bird watch?

Hey! Lately its been the two best places within 45 minutes: John Heinz NWR in Philly, or Forsythe autoloop near Galloway/Smithville NJ in Atlantic County. I really like Barnegat Light State Park in the winter, and Great Bay Blvd. in Ocean County but haven't traveled there since Coronavirus. I made it to Tall Pines in Deptford/Mantua area in March a few times. Also I've had a lot of success when I'm in Seattle and Olympic Peninsula visiting family. The ferries are excellent for finding seabirds.

@tzieser I forgot to use reply oops.

I'm late to this discussion, but I'd like to echo @cavedave in that for those of us who have been on here for a while, familiar avatars create a sense of comfort.

The OP asked about what sorts of things attract us. Well, I am a man & there is such a thing as "The Male Gaze" so @GreenBayBA is always a source of interest as is the one with the (ahem!) buxom gal swigging a 40!

I am less doggos than *****, I mean, cats! As such, one that ALWAYS makes me smile is @Dan_K .

Mine goes back quite a while & was created for me by someone else, which is why I do not amend it or take it down. It is reversed, though, as if my name were "ChANdlerwoody". FYI, the fellow in the background is my pseudo-Great Uncle Raymond.

Really?!? I'm not doubting you, but I'm interested/curious. I seem to see more dogs than cats. CAN you name some names? I may not be hanging in the right forums. Eeek!
