That was a great shipment. Digital Forest and Casa Del Norte were excellent.

Ambient Fields FTW. Jumbo Jets is one dimensional, REM cycle has a good mouth feel. Ambient is the best in a while, very strong attempt, but falls short of the Tree House I drank it next to (Jjjulius and Bright w/ Nelson).

What's the word on Casa stouts? I'd be willing to go in with someone in the City on a shipment. One 4 pack each gets to the $45 free shipping minimum

I've only had a couple of their stouts, but what I've had has been quite good. Vagabond Breakfast was pretty amazing, and undecaffeinated was a really well executed coffee stout, so I have high hopes for this new one.

I really have to give Casa a ton of credit on their shipping operation. Never had their beer before this lock down but I've been enjoying it every week since and the experience has been flawless. As an example, I ordered beer on Sunday night and it was at my door on Tuesday. So far, I haven't had one bad beer from them either. Good stuff guys!

Most of their stouts have been pretty good with Vagabond B1 being excellent. I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon and/or chili in my beer but I may give it a try

Looks like some Casa cans are showing up in the Long Beach area.

I know I've said it before, but you guys should really check out their saisons and sours, as that is what they are really known for (the name is "House of Sour" after all!). Are they not offering those for shipment?

They are but BA people don't even care about SARA's Saisons/sours, so it's a wasted attempt. [I agree that CASA's Saison/sours as their best beers. And their dark beers have been impressive.]

City Beer got some as well in SF.

I think they are really good for the price. At $6-8/ can I’m not sure it can be beat. MT makes some better non-barrel aged stouts but they are also twice the cost. Vagabond breakfast was really good for $32 a 4 pack

I’m not in SF, but thanks for the heads up about the imperial stouts! I haven’t tried their stouts yet, but since I liked what I’ve had by them so far and I generally enjoy 10.8% chili stouts, 2x packs for $48 w/ free shipping was good enough for me to purchase blind.

Guilty. I’d probably care more if a bottle of saison/sour wasn’t the same price as an entire 4 pack of an IPA or even a DIPA/TIPA or Imperial Stout. I realize the process is more complicated, and I do like them well enough (I get a pour of a sour/saison whenever I go to the SARA taproom) but I don’t prefer them over DIPAs or big stouts, and I can’t bring myself to regularly pay 2.5x the price per fl oz for something I don’t like 2.5x as much.

You should most definitely consider trying some of their saisons. They’re some of the best in the country.

More praise for Casa (and GSO/GSL). Ordered yesterday morning, had shipping notification within the hour, and received the box this morning (exactly 24 hours later) here in Marin.

Was a little disappointed in the last batch of hazies from Casa (Western Glow, Oils, Forbidden Frontier), but this non-BA Stout is quite nice. Especially after it warms up and the extreme chocolate bitterness mellows out. Glad I didn't end up splitting the order lol.

Especially since I feel like over the last two months the overall quality of hoppy beers from many breweries seems to have gradually dropped a bit. Maybe just from rushing every beer to cans. Regardless, I'm on a stout kick now and this is a nice one!

Agree totally. They weren't terrible but average at best. 2 cans so far that I've had of "skypager" had legit leaf fragments in them. I'm assuming part of the hops that didnt get filtered completely out?

Morning Doves saison was amazing. Really looking forward to ordering more of the fruited saisons for sure

Of those I've tried, I like their non-fruited Saisons/sours more than their fruited. (Dos Casas is my fav!) That being said, batch 1 of Austerity blew me away. (The current batch 2 punches you in the face with its aggressive acid.)

Are most of Casa's sours on the acidic end of the spectrum? I was actually surprised how minimal the acidity was in Morning Doves. Really juicy (peach and orange)
