I can neither confirm nor deny. But wink, wink. You might be correct. Damn your water boarding! I thought I could resist!

You didn't ask me but I live in the country and I have a somewhat interesting story and I am just about buzzed enough to tell it. My yard has around a dozen old pine trees, a few japanese maples, a few gingkos, and some other trees I don't know the name of. Needless to say, we have tons of birds in my yard. I don't know much about birds but I obviously know cardinals (male and female) and bluejays and I see them in my yard pretty much daily. Anyhoo I will finally get to the point:

The other day I was out on the porch drinking a beer and I saw a bluejay messing with something on the ground. It looked like a little ball of fur or something so I went to go investigate. I get close enough and see the little furball is actually a smaller bird the bluejay was in the process of eating. When I got to close it picked up the rest of the corpse and flew off. I had no ideas bluejays ate other birds.

Drafting Table Blackberry Tarty Slip. Outstanding Berliner. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Lovely ruby/purple color. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit malts; light peppercorn, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very creamy/grainy wheat; some lactic acid, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness; no pucker/astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, mellowly lactic, not watery for 5%. Awesome balance of big juicy/jammy berries and Lacto complexity; with a nice sized pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity for the ABV. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Love it.

I’ve sworn off Blue Jays in my yard ever since they beat the Phillies in ‘93. They’re dead to me.

Sir, do you know how that scenario will go? I'll tell you.

Local reporter: Well folks, after one day of being open, a local brewery is already shut down. And no, not due to safety concerns. It appears that two men emptied their resources in only a few hours. Yes, you're understanding me correctly. They drank ALL the beer.

Haha! We call that LARRRGE news on Channel 6.

Needless to say, I love watching and photographing birds. I'm not obsessive like hardcore birders, but whenever I spot a different movement, color, size or behavior out in my yard, I grab the binoculars and ID book, and if lucky, a fair camera shot.

It's even better when going out to the eastern plains when I go target shooting. Many times I spend more time shooting pictures of birds and wildlife than putting holes in paper...

Thats beautifully put together. I take blood pressure and cholesterol meds but I do cardio daily. And when I do its not just 15 minutes I sweat like a hydrant. Excercise is a huge part no matter what age. You may already do that which is cool. For me its hereditary but I also need alot of excercise. Unfortunately alcohol is probably one of the worst things. I know I am going to come to a point where I have to quit. And when that time comes I will realize it and just do it. Stay healthy. You only go around once in this ride.

Day 14 and Final Day of The Vintage Small Format/High ABV Cellar Box Find Challenge! Have no fear, I have a cellar full of vintage beers, but i started this dive back into craft with one specific box I found that I didn’t know I had at the back of the beer cellar. This is the last non-repeat beer from that box. ‘Twas a short but fun right.
Closing out The Challenge is a Stone Xocoveza. Wasn’t sure how this adjunct heavy stout would age, let’s find out.

Pour is beautiful with 1 fingers plus width of dense cream colored head. Aroma is ridiculously huge , it has not faded at all. Cinnamon is insane, also with big nutmeg, vanilla, some capsaicin like peppery heat, coffee and chocolate are prominent. Essentially a perfect nose. Taste isn’t quite as voluptuous but man is it still good. It’s a little tamer up front with roasted and oaky notes, then on the finish there’s a wonderful cinnamon/coffee/chocolate character, like a cinnamon mocha latte that lingers forever. This is elite, I am downright shocked but how good this has aged.

Musically, I’m back to Goose again tonight, cause I like what I heard last night.

    Cheers Advocates!

2015 BCBW..saw this in a small store in a rural area and was like score! Love BC barleywine. Only a day later did it dawn on me that this was the year of all the infections. Still remained hopeful. Until the cap came off.

Can’t believe I drank pretty much all of this. Kind of barleywine meets balsamic. Would you believe it went well with pizza?
