Why not pour it straight down the middle.

Like they did in olden times?

Or when American beer when to the dogs.

When only an aggressive pour would produce a 30 second head.

Before the invention of the Guitar.

How did you keep the Orval foam down. Every time I pout it the head/foam is 70% of the glass.

A beaut! But seems no bourbon barrel aging, so I'll pass.

I thought so too but it does smell a bit like lemony dish soap.
    Great idea for a thread.

It's actually really solid, I prefer it without on this one. Still clocks in at 9.7% ABV

It was a slow pour. I think the cold outdoor temperature kept the foam down and helped retain it as it formed. Additionally the Orval glass is key because of the wide mouth.

Not cheap but you can get it mail-order from Belgium, at least that what I've heard

    Nahh. From their website:

The "Trappist Westvleteren" can only be purchased through the web store and can be picked up at the sales centre located at the abbey.

never underestimate the head retention of a High Life with heavy intermittent pours! 100% real!
only caveat is that it fizzled down to a small island of fluff within 10-15 minutes :stuck_out_tongue:

It's good to see that Rockmill has gone to smaller bottles. Everything I've seen from them has been 750 ml.

Have you visited the brewery on your trips to Columbus? Being off the beaten path, it's a right proper place to have a farmhouse ale. But don't trust your GPS to get you to their driveway if you ever go. Mine left me a half mile away and fortunately I kept driving in the right direction and finally saw their small sign. (I drove there from the south coming from Lancaster.)
