Fair - I was a pretty big fan of the BA Henna Macaroon so I still tried on this. Based on reviews from the last non-BA I probably wouldn't have tried for a non-BA release.

Doubt we'll ever see any confirmation (EDIT: well, nevermind!) but I do wonder if this is still Shaun brewed base beer or not.

Saw on Facebook that More mentioned it was aged for 22months, so most definitely a Shaun brewed base beer, if I am doing math correctly. Lol

I had booked a reservation for Henna on Saturday afternoon, then realized I'm having appliances delivered then, so I cancelled it. By then all other options were booked. :disappointed I agree with those who thought the sale format was clunky.

I don’t disagree with you at all. I will say in their defense that spacing the bottles out to comply with distancing caused the issue. Not saying it couldn’t have had a better set up, but personally I cut More a break here (also easy to say when I got a bottle)

Tried 3 mins late via phone and that didn't work out so hot. Buddy got em, said he'd share the BA Henna. Oh well, I saved $50 this day.

Yeah. The lack of bottles is the issue, especially when spreading them out over 12 pickup windows at 2 locations. I don't know how many were packaged, but there were probably only 15-20 bottles available for each pickup window

Pickup should only be at Villa Park.

Ya cause that's the way you grow your brand...not release your big releases at your multimillion dollar facility lol

Anyone notice how those last “Shaun” barrels have been adjuncted(word?) to all hell?

I have never heard of a brewer letting a beer age in barrels for 22 months just to throw caramel and a bunch of other stuff in it. Feels like they are covering up his work

My first time in Huntley today. It was something else to be within 150 yards of it but have the GPS say I had 0.8 miles of driving left to go.

My wife and I opened one of her Coco Flux cans (that's right: her beer... I didn't order Coco Flux and she didn't order the Nuttelik but we both got what we wanted), and to someone like myself who really prefers no additive/adjunct in either barrel aged or non barrel aged stouts, this was too sweet. Actually after I took about 5-6 sips I gave the rest to my wife, who really enjoyed it.

I bet most pastry fans will enjoy this one for all the reasons I didn't: sweet bakers cacao really beats up the nose on the aggressive pour, and it transfers into the flavor profile but this time with a good dose of toasted coconut, which I hadn't really picked up in the aroma. It's rich, decadent and very sweet. Medium-thick mouthfeel. Like I mentioned, just not my style but I can certainly see how others would like it.

I don't know about the 'covering up' part, but I did wish that this was just a straight up barrel aged stout which sat in barrels for almost 2 years. Seems like a lot of time and effort to draw out the flavors out of the barrel only to cover them up with additives. But who knows, maybe it was just too hot without them. A few gentlemen on here and I shared a Fundamental Theorem a couple of months ago, and in-spite of having vanilla additive in there it still prompted one of the guys to say 'this tastes like bourbon with a shot of beer in it'.
