First Foam Brewers I’ve tried, I’m impressed! Can art reminds me to set up the new turntable I bought, been missing my vinyl!


Bob Dylan has always remained on my short list that only vinyl is the right medium to listen to (so apologies to using digital here).

 

After several days of unseasonably cold weather, it is now warming up. $1,123 heat pump repair came just in time for hot weather.

 

It always amazes me how Fripp could not only find the right drummer, but constantly recreate the band with a seemingly never ending parade of excellent musicians.

First one was good. #2.

 

All that you need to add is a shot of bourbon and you will have experienced nirvana.

 

It’s Thursday, so it must be new non-alcoholic beer time! Today’s contender is “Juicy Mavs” a Hazy IPA from Surreal Brewing Co., Campbell, CA:



I pop the top and it’s a small geyser!; managed to get most of it in a teku, with a huge rocky white head; deep gold/pale hazy amber; ok cap retention; medium spotty lacing; chunks of yeast fall to the bottom of the glass. Light citrus and berries nose. Lemongrass with very little bitterness; not much flavor here. Watery and highly carbonated, prickly feel. Overall, not bad, but not much here; I got more flavor from Lagunitas’ Hop Water; and I could have done without the yeast chunks.

Singlecut Softly Spoken Magic Spells. This is the first time I’ve had this beer where it’s lived up to the hype. Also the first time I’ve had it this fresh, 3 weeks young.

 

I have to say that this beer can compete with the IPAs brewed by my beloved Richmond breweries.

 

My first offering from Hop Butcher, looks and smells promising.
