Southern Tier 2XMas tastes like a spiced, malty fruit cake. A nice treat, but not something to have all season long. Rogue Santa's Reserve is always good, and very drinkable, as is 21st Century Amendment's Fireside Chat. I look for those two each year, and am looking forward t finding a new favorite this year.

Another vote for the Gouden Carolus Noel- I prefer that one to the Affligem Noel, more festive and not as medicinal.

Thus far I'd say Troegs Mad Elf and St. Bernardus Christmas Ale blow everything out of the water. Other beers I've enjoyed have been Great Divide Hibernation and Sierra Nevada Celebration. I don't get the love for Anchor's Christmas Ale. Didn't really enjoy it

Agreed on all accounts. Anchor's ale really leaves some things to be desired. I wish it was as good as the Celebration because I'd love to be able to buy magnum sized bottles of it!

I love this on tap, haven't got any bottles yet. It actually incorporates some nice flavors and aromas of the holidays, unlike some others that just slap a festive label on a seasonal release hop bomb.
