Cheap cans of german pilsener (Wolters/Brunonia, Bitburger, Veltins) are a staple these days. Sometimes I'll be lucky enough to catch some discounted cases of HB dopplebock or oktoberfest throughout the year, and that's usually a pretty good deal. For domestic brews, it would have to be Lagunitas Stout or Hop Stoopid when I want to switch it up. If I'm feeling super cheap, I just buy Budweiser and look up what rebates are around - I end up paying almost nothing for beer at that point. Even Coors Banquet too, I just bought 72 beers last month for $20:grin:.

I don't care about price. If I want it I buy it. I'm not a shopper. The value lies in the experience for me.

Eliot Ness. God, I hated it from the first sip and choke to the last splash down the drain.

I've bought this frequently in supermarkets in Chicagoland for $4.99. Heck of a deal. Costs more in Pittsburgh but still a decent deal. $43 for a 24 can case of 500mls.

You won't find too many here to agree with this assessment of this beer. Some, no doubt, will say it is overrated, but it is currently the #1 rated beer here for its style.

Also, to judge an entire brewery based on one bottle of one beer...

It was a 6-pack, but even it's a single bottle - why not? I skip the output of entire breweries, some, I am sure, very highly rated without ever trying. Tasting a beer, finding it unpalatable, concluding that they make everything in same approach, and deciding not throw good money after the bad seems perfectly reasonable to me.

They used to offer buy 5 get the 6th 4pk free but still can't complain about their pricing. I hope it's worked out for them and it continues. I know when I take a drive out there I buy 1-2 cases. Then I go to Total Wine for Jack's Abby.

Harris Teeter in North Carolina had Sierra Nevada 12 packs for $11.99 last weekend! Limit was 2 - bought Hazy Little Thing and the mix pack with Torp, Pale, 40 yr, and Hop Bullet.

Voodoo Ranger 12 packs at Food Lion under $15.
Bells is always a value because of the quality.
Hi-Wire is expensive at Food Lion but online, even with shipping is a good value.

    Just ordered 2 X 12 of Hi-Wire Mosaic IPA.
Can't wait so tomorrow, I will pay the Food Lion price for a sixer.
