I thought all the single hops with 8.5% ABV where the same beer with a different hop and the duals had two... But now we have All Galaxy/Mosaic Everything and Mo+Mo has become 8.3%.

 

Aside from the obvious one of tose, and forgetting DDH/HDHC variants, I would really love to know the differences between:

ACE/DCD
AGaE/Space/Daydream

 

Yeah, I was just figuring maybe this was a way to make it, present it slightly differently, and ensure good sales, because non-ddh SD maybe would not sell as well? Eh, someone mentioned grain bill, maybe that's right. that is, when is the last time they made non-DDH space diamonds? (or ACE...not to say they HAVEN'T, but I honestly do not remember nor do I want to attempt a dig thru Instagram for it)

 

Not sure of the exact date but it was some time in late 2016 that they last did non-DDH SD.

 

They just don't any more, not sure how long you've been hitting the taproom/can sales, but before the new taproom opened there was a time where Forever Simcoe, ACE, SD, Broccoli Mylar and so were not "DDH" and for the last several years they are all just DDH. The DDH drove hype and cost upwards, then they shifted to those "core" beers as only DDH. IMO DDH ACE = ACE at this point, they really have no reason to make a non DDH version again, same with the ones I mentioned earlier. Same thing with the Dual Hops, they used to do non DDH versions of those and since they have come back they have all been DDH, if I remember correctly

 

Have the galaxy hops rebounded enough for you guys to trust them to buy the new AGE??

 

haven't been in the city for work since mid march, and happened to be downtown when AGaE dropped... amazing timing.. was painless getting there and back driving too.

 

Yeah haven't been going that long though I recall complaints about the $2 extra for these DDH that has such a nebulous definition, and people questioning if you could taste much of any difference compared to the "base." First time I made it there was for the Choir Boyz release... Luckily I'd had their stuff before from a friend, otherwise the coconut nightmare IPA would've kept me away. Pretty sure there was actually coppertone in there.

 

Mo+Mo is great, classic dual hop flavors and bitterness, nary a saccharine note to be found. I got there before those AGaE cans were available, and having been burned by my last two Galaxy purchases I'm anxiously awaiting feedback on this release.

 

Remember when they were super liberal with the dual hops... it's been same ole same ole for awhile sans Citra+Strata (Ra+Ta? if i becomes a thing)

 

AGE = All Green Everything, we must keep order in our names bc OH won't. I don't know about AGaE, too close to algae, but I have nothing.

 

Oh yeah forgot about that for a second.

 

All Galaxy Everything is pretty tasty. Very soft. Reminds me a lot of Treehouse Haze.

However, I am not really looking for that kind of beer when I’m getting OH. I miss the full-on hop assault. Where did they go?

 

Oh I have dabbled. And it’s delicious.

having one now, and the Haze comparison is pretty accurate. Maybe the full on hop assault will be in the DDH version? lol
