Haven’t posted in this thread in a few months? My wife gave birth to our first child around 4 months ago and since then it has been busy as those with kids already know lol. Here is a beer that is really shining as of late:

Our governor just announced masks are now mandatory in public. That's cool, I'm sure folks with feel a lot more safe with me rolling around like...

I love Al Dimeola, but I can see why you'd describe his playing as cold - it's because he's more of a technician I think. They used to call him Lydian Al.

When I was studying with a local renown jazz player, he stopped me one day and said "don't be so technical, learn it, know it exists, but play from your heart". Best advice I ever received.

Your jazz player instructor nailed it for me. Technical has its place, for sure. But from my romantic heart, when a musician instills heart and soul into their playing, that's what grabs me. Even classical music, where players and conductors have varying degrees of tempo and emphasis and all that other technical gobbledy-gook show how some pieces work better than others.

And regarding Al - he seemed to have more heart in RTF, but then again, he was young and new then. I see him as more cold and technical with his solo stuff.

On the same token, slop is slop. If there ain't no heart or talent, (in my opinion), it ain't shit...

I mean, hell, look at Jeff Beck. There is technical mastery with soul...

I just blasted that through the Bluetooth speaker in my kitchen. My wife asked me what it was. I said, “That’s LarryV, babe. Get with the program.”

Onto a delicious local take on a Wit.

    Cheers!

Definitely more of a Shiner clone than the previous Belgian brewed Broegel. This has a cocoa note and no noble hops. It is cleanly lagered. If I can sort out the shell company brewing it, I'll add the brewery, beer and review. Cheers all!
