Typical press release and government mentality this go-round.

From what I read, it seems to me that if they serve food and can adhere to the 6ft social distance rule, they should be able to stay open.
Where it seems a bit more undefined is if they do not have a kitchen, but serve food via food truck.

I don't think food trucks generally count. I know in NM the breweries that were first allowed to open were the ones that had 50% of their own sales being food sales, which limited only to the brewpubs. Food truck sales wouldn't count for the sales of any brewery.

Big news today and wanted to give everyone an update given the information about bar closures

It is extremely difficult for businesses to figure out what is going on, because of the patchwork of guidance that vary from county to county and city to city. There has never been a standardized communication system and businesses needing to see what the local news is reporting and/or what is being posted on social media. The onus is on businesses/establishments/organizations to actively search for that information and operate within the guidelines to the best of their abilities.

Many brewery taprooms followed the previous phase of guidelines, to "operate as a restaurant" by having a food option (such as food trucks) that is not handled by a third-party delivery service (DoorDash, Postmates, UberEats, etc.). So, any restaurant that handles the delivery with their own staff (or taproom staff) with no restrictions on proximity. Although, specifically regarding brewery taprooms, using third party food delivery services as well as patrons bringing in their own food are also within guidelines.

Like numerous press releases in the past few months, the mandate is said during a press conference, but then the actual text is available a few days later.

I would like to think that most establishments are operating within the guidelines set forth by the health departments, but there are select establishments that are not following the best practices to keep us safe in addition to patrons that do not to believe that these practices should be followed. This makes the job of employees at taprooms very difficult.

I sincerely appreciate the support that the craft beer community has received for the last 3+ months and rely on you and everyone more than ever.

Not until this becomes a depot for poorly thought out political diatribes that involve conjecture and ad hominem arguments.
