I think missed in the translation is your friend was doing 110 on the Turnpike with no license. The Maine police don't like "visitors without documentation (license)".

My co-worker was headed up there from RI today so I think I'll hear about it if they get hassled.

This seems very unlikely to me. All that Maine requires for out of state visitors at this point is that they fill out a form at their hotel attesting to having been tested. I can’t imagine what the violation would have been, unless the cop asked the guy questions about where he was going and whether he’d been tested, and he said he hadn’t been tested and wasn’t planning to quarantine.

It's probably the same signage the northerners ignore on their trip home after they visit family in MA & CT. I know of quite a few people that have visited family overnight and returned to ME without quarantining.

Looks like CT, NY & NJ are now free to travel to ME without quarantining. Time to collect mine.

Not MA? I thought CT and MA were in very similar positions.

I'm not sure what metrics they used, but MA & RI didn't make the cut. I doubt they'll be far behind .

I just read in the Globe that Gov. Baker plans to call the Governor of Maine to ask why MA residents visiting ME are supposed to quarantine upon entering the state. He was asked about it today at a press conference. I'm paraphrasing, but a reporter asked him why he thought ME still had this regulation for MA residents, and he said, "I don't know the answer to that," or a similar statement. Then he said he'd call the governor. I wish I could listen in on that call.

Their imperial stouts get most of the attention, but drinking a Barleywine Is For Lovers right now and this is fantastic. English barleywine (a heavier, less hoppy Big Bang) aged in Cognac barrels and finished with peaches. Sticky caramel and dark fruit, stewed peach in the finish.

It's a bit sweet but I'm a big fan, luckily I still have a couple left.

I had this at the Maine Brewers Guild festival in February and agree it was excellent and unique. I didn’t realize they released bottles. Members only I assume?

Having one now and agree. Was a little nervous about it, but luckily it’s not as overly fruit forward like the Big Bang with peaches and apricots.

    Any thoughts on this release?
I'll get both but I'm usually not too crazy about pastry stouts. I'll max out on the BA Gnome's Soul though.

Im in the same boat as you. Unsure about the Dr Reeses. But the Gnomes Soul sounds awesome.

"This time, we barrel aged it for just over 17 months in Buffalo Trace barrels, skipped the lactose, and added a little more vanilla. The beer tastes like a good boozy bourbon stout with a scoop of pistachio ice cream. "

I’ll grab a couple of each. Wasn’t a massive fan of Gnomes Soul, but I’ll buy dishwater from these guys if they barrel age it, so I’ll give this one a shot.

Had this last night. WAY smoother than the Weller.

Anyone do an Inner vs Deep side by side? Not sure if knocking these back to back is very responsible, so maybe not on a school night. Maybe I'll attempt it this weekend.

I am finally going to make it out there to pick up my member bottles this weekend. Very happy that it coincides with the awesome bottle pours they will be doing this week/weekend (seen via their social media). Unfortunate that the anniversary event couldn't happen, but their plan to open a ton of vintage bottles for pours is a nice option.
