I guess so, but not for any particular reason. If you read my old beer reviews (from like 2006-2012), you’ll probably find that I always had a dislike for bitter, resiny and overly roasty beers, hence I tend to gravitate toward NEIPAs and pastry stouts today.

Yeah, Summerfest isn’t really my thing either. I really tend to really gravitate toward dry hopped pils, like Luppolo and JA DH Post Shit. Sacrilege, right? Haha.

Is this a seasonal beer? If so, do you know when this beer is available?

    Cheers!

It's available only after you've gone to the bathroom.

But seriously, it was a tap room exclusive for awhile if I recall correctly, and then it was canned and limited amounts hit distribution.

You should be able to use their beer finder to see if it's in your area.

So you like German hops but not Pacific Northwest hops then?

Haha. Freudian slip perhaps. Seriously though, that beer is killer.

Yes, not because it’s “in,” but rather because this is more to my taste. To each his own.

I wouldn’t describe myself as an en vogue drinker. More of a man for all seasons drinker. But yeah there’s something about SN that’s never worked for me either. But like a sheep I have spent the years liking people’s comments giving big ups to SNPA, Torpedo Etc. Thank you for giving me the strength to speak up.

Bigfoot is maybe my least favourite barleywine of all time*. Wow I said it.

*don’t @ me with the “it’s waaay better aged” commentary - I have gone up to the seven year mark and still nah

So you would agree that snowcrash000's opinion on NEIPAs is controversial...

I dislike "cool" can art. (i.e. pipeworks, clown shoes, etc.). Too busy and I can't find the name or type of beer. I prefer it simple, and clearly labeled. I actually skip over the cans on the shelf with crazy busy art because I'm usually in a hurry and don't have time to inspect the can to see what it is and where it's from.
I also dislike the extremely long "creative" beer names. Again, I prefer it simple.

In the same way that not all NEIPAs are brewed in New England, neither are they all brewed in the USA. Plenty of European breweries following that model now. Cloudwater being an obvious one - and I believe a favourite* of snowcrash’s

    *deal with it @thesherrybomber

Not sure how to respond to that specifically.

I will report that when it comes to 'NEIPA' beers, lately they seem to taste pretty similar for my palate (for the beers I drink).

    Cheers!

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I would like calories displayed on all my beer. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m more in the ignorance is bliss category. We can all ball park the calories in these things. I would rather they weren’t explicitly stated

Makes finding the ABV a real pain in the ass too.

I also prefer simplicity with my beer labels. I feel the same way about wine bottles too. That party why beers from Oxbow, Allagash, Side Project, and the like have appeal to me.

    As for names, 100% agree.

"Our new double IPA named Expressions of Elevated Principality."

"We call this new chocolate stout Antidisestablishmentarianism."

    Shut up.

Also, as a hip hop fan, quit it with the hip hop names. It's an industry of 99.99% bearded white dudes. Respect for the hip hop love, but until your audience/clientele reaches a certain percentage of people of color, let's chill with the Jadakiss lyrics.

Agree on Abt12. My favorite quad (yes, over Westy) and one of my favorite beers out there.

Clown Shoes can art is the opposite of “cool.” It’s actually super lame imo, and the references are akin to something that a middle school boy would think is funny. Just my two cents. But yeah, the labels are busy. Same with Pipeworks. That said, I kinda dig Pipeworks’ labels.

I hear you about Clown Shoes art being lame. There is one brewery that I actually enjoy their can art.. Foreign Objects. All the cans have really cool watercolor paintings.
