Serpent's Stout! I know it's a seasonal and 750ml bottles aren't cool anymore but it's such a great beer. And Costco will get bottles to get loaded up for the year.

Drake's has been coming out with some pretty good regular BA stouts to little fanfare. Death of the Sun and BA Drakonic were both enjoyable. Also a fan of Faction Nyx.

One stout I would like to see in a canned 4-pack is Smog City's The Nothing. I enjoyed the full body and robust chocolate notes, but it wasn't that much cheaper than Infinite Wishes so my funds would always go to the latter.

I was told they changed the IBU.

Bit yeah, old school FIS with 2 years on it is heavenly.

So far, the batch that showed up in sept of last year has.just been getting better. I'm interested in seeing how long it holds up

Ya I got worried.when my regular spot was getting low and snatched up the last 4 pack. They stocked some in the singles section, along with the apparent last bottles of.bigfoot. I'll probably sock away a few more, although my new spot that o discovered near my work still has 4 packs in the cooler so.my.stress.level is low

I first tried Parabola in 2016, and I love that batch. 2017 is when Boulevard brewed it and I absolutely hate that beer. I have two more bottles, unfortunately :/ I think I have a 2018 but I'm afraid to try it after the 2017 debacle.

So lucky you got to try the 2015 (and prior?)

Yeah excited to try the 2014, but acting responsibly for virus transmission keeps getting in the way. And definitely looking forward to another bottle of 2015...one of the few times I'm happy about bombers!

Picked up a 4pk of Smog City's Black is Beautiful... Solid, toasty imperial stout. Definitely worth getting if any are left

Transmission getting in the way of bottles? how so? please elaborate.

On another note, I still have some of those myself (2014-15), just sitting. perhaps When my 2nd turns 1.

I still have a 2010 and 2011 bottles. Drank plenty of each over the years so I wanted to save a 2010 until 2020 for a vertical. Welp, I doubt I'll be doing a vertical bottle share any time soon. Just might have to take it to the dome.

Trying to share the 2014 and 2015 bottles with friends from both SoCal and Norcal, some of which live in households with susceptible populations. So gathering these folks for the sole purpose of a bottle share seems foolish. Maybe we'll get tiref of waiting and plan an outdoor gathering where we can share them, but normally our preference is to have a bottle share indoors, as we feel there's less competing stimuli against the beer.

Picked up a bomber of Old Rasputin yesterday and enjoyed it but it was thinner than I remember. Funny how tastes shift..

Had a w00tstout 2.0 (with about 6 years on it) about a month ago and it was great. Really rounded off in a nice way.

I'm looking for some tasty, straight up BA stouts, if anyone has any recommendations of some currently available in CA. BA stouts have become increasingly adjunct laden sugar bombs and I just can't go there. Looking for straight up BA stouts (coffee is ok) without cocoa nibs, marshmallow, maple syrup, candied pecans, hazelnuts, vanilla, peanut butter, bananas, etc., etc., etc.

Parabola's the only CA-produced shelfie I can think of. BCBS fits the bill too, just not brewed here.
