EQ does one thing well. And that’s make super low bitterness IPAs, to the point where they all taste flat. I enjoy them for the most part but they all start to taste the same and their “scientific method” is nothing more than excessive dry hopping. These beers taste exactly like the veils 0 IBU beers

excited to try the Tired Hands collab, should be coming in for me Friday. Maybe Jean can teach them a thing or two

Did I miss something, when did they announce the Tired Hands collab?

Is there a technical term for the rotting melon taste? I got it from some Wavelength, only other place I tasted it before was a subpar brewery in Philly.

i feel really bad about people experiencing bad EQ beer, but maybe this will wake them up and figure it out. I always get a weird artificial taste from their beers. Ive given up on them, maybe just chalk it up to 2020 being a horrible year all together.

Wisconsin just got our second drop of EQ. They intrigue me but not enough to spend $7 a can. Glad I found this thread as I'll be holding off for the forseeable future.

GD... At that price my brother is better off paying me to ship him OH/Finback.

He tells me his local place, Fermentorium, has upped their game since the OH All Together collab.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never been in love with EQ's IPAs. It's not for lack of trying either. I've sought out, traded for, and had their beers delivered. Even their most sought after cans have been letdowns for me. My tasting notes for SOTL were "wonder bread and melon juice." Maybe that's someone else's dream flavor combo, but I won't be a co-signer.

Speaking of: I would also like to go on record and say the whole "melon note" thing was nice 3 years ago when it was unique, but when the vast majority of IPAs you brew have said "melon note" it becomes tiresome. Doubly so if you weren't a fan of melon to begin with.

Wow I’ve never been so interested to try beer from a brewery and so unbelievably disappointed. 3 of the 4 beers I bought were some combo of oxidized and tasted/smelled like rotting fruit. Photon I thought was great for what it was. MC2, Dhop2, Flucuation went straight down the drain.

Just received four 4 packs and all have been good. I’m appreciative of them shipping. Derivation, bitrate fluctuation, dhop15, and Fulcrum have been enjoyable.

Kinda crazy to see the amount of inventory available on their shipping site right now.

Couple months back all their stuff was selling out in hours. Haven’t ordered in about a month, but the beers were good, nothing to write home about though.

Anyone have any thoughts on some of the new stuff available?

I was drinking a lot of EQ when quarantine started, but then got burned hard by those oxidized cans that they were sending out. I've been to Tin Barn which is 10-15 minutes away from EQ two or three times in the few weeks and haven't bothered stopping by EQ.

I bought single cans of d5 and d15 from DeCicco’s a few weeks ago and they were both fantastic. Both specifically said they were brewed at the brewery and had date stamps. Anything else of theirs I’ve had, with the new can labels, since March, was average at best and expensive.

Once Covid hit, I started drinking EQ again--after a year or two hiatus--out of curiosity. Their Kiwi DIPA was the only one that really landed for me. Anything with marshmallows, bleh. It's been a couple months later, and I recently bought their collabs with OH and Obercreek. OH collab was OK as the taste definitely fell flat. For me, it's a brewery I have to hype myself up to actually enjoy. Perhaps an effect of overconsumption, but I had this problem with OH as everything just melds together in some sort of lucid dream. To that extent, I probably overrate their beers. FWIW, Kiwi, was really good.

Quick question to someone who placed an order out-of-state recently.

I live in southeast PA and placed an order, Friday 8/28/20. I received an email confirmation of my order but have not heard anything since. Does Eq typically send an email when the beer ships?

So I know that EQ has no control over liquor store prices but This is Strara for $32.99 is outrageous. Buy Rite in Milltown NJ is selling it for that much.

Even their MC2 was at $30 before and now it's at $26 I believe. I mean wtf. Are there no rules to super gouging? Even mules don't cost that much

I think I'm done with EQ for a while after my next order. Got some oxidized cans of Vulgar Display in early summer. Then I placed another order with a bottle of BA Players that (not their fault) UPS destroyed. They never reached out about it. Had to place another order for them to send me a replacement bottle. They offered to ship me some 4 packs cuz of the oxidized cans. Cool. The 2 packs they sent me were both brown. Whatever. My order that had the BA Players replacement was missing a bottle. Asked for a refund, heard nothing.

Got 2 bottles of the Trillium stout because apparently I'm a glutton for punishment. I am waiting for a beer that isnt a Marshmallow Lactose TIPA before I pull the trigger. Missed out on the OH DIPA so we'll see what gets posted next week.

What is going on at EQ? How about focus on fixing your quality issues instead of making blue tiki “beers”? I really like their stuff but have to start to question their commitment to customers when these canning issues have persisted for months

Some kind of serious QC issues. Also nobody in their right mind is paying the prices EQ goes for now. It has absolutely flooded stores down here and just sits around.
