I’m only seeing this now but to see all these posts and to see it not pointed out that not only did Nightmare cut any kind of ties with the artist, will not work with him moving forward and completely refuted and disagreed with and was completely blindsighted by what was posted (by a guy who has nothing to do with the actual making of the beer) would be disingenuous.

To be fair, that situation happened very quickly (credit to the brewery for that) and the vast majority of the comments were made before he cut ties.

Seems like it's more a case of there just not being much of a follow up, but I did mention here that the head brewer of Nigthmare's first comment was pretty much on point.

Hey folks, I'm staying on the UES for a few days and was wondering what a good bottle shop is in the area. I know Covid has kind of changed everything. Appreciate any help.

Harlem hops has a great selection though they are a bit pricey. Most of their selection they mule from breweries and sell for twice the price. That's where I get some district 96 sometimes when I don't feel like making the drive

I live in Brooklyn but my in-laws have a place in the UES (that incidentally we just spent a couple nights at since we’re between homes). My go to spots when staying/visiting there are City Hops (60th & 2nd) and City Swiggers (86th between 1st and 2nd). Also I’m not sure what their COVID business model is like but The Jeffrey is a bar close to the first place that might have some decent to go/outdoor options

Yea their prices to-go are a bit much, but as a Washington Heights resident it was my favorite place to drink so I have no problem paying out the nose to support them. The staff is also fantastic, and if you like NEIPA from local-ish hyped breweries, their selection is impossible to beat.

The Jeffrey, City Swiggers, City Hops, and Bondurants are your best bets. I know the first 3 are doing cans to go, Bondurants was for a while but I think they have some outdoor seating now. If you’re in the lower part of the area The Greats of Craft may be worth checking out.

I went to City Hops and picked up a Finback, a couple OH, and a King Sue. Chatted with the guy for a bit because he asked me about my Jack's Abby shirt. More expensive than I would've liked but I didn't have to schlep out to the brewery to get it, so who cares. I wasn't looking for beer to haul back, just to enjoy while I'm here.

yeah should have said - both places but that one in particular, are more of a “pick up a couple nice beers at premium prices” vs buying a case type place

(which is the case at tons of places in NYC but can be jarring for people out of town)

I was looking for a place to pick up nice beers versus getting a 4/6 pack of something, so it worked fine. I figure that I'd have to figure out to get to Brooklyn otherwise to get their beer so I'm not complaining.

Love everything folksbier. An all strata IPA from them is something I'll be all over. Perpetual motion is still drinking lovely. That strata and mosaic combination is amazing
