The proper way to put it is that they are in a community that has been ignored because people of color have primarily lived there, but now it's being gentrified by white people, so it's not being ignored any more.

Typically, how are the lagers? Reviews are "mixed", to put it nicely.

I tried a pour of what was called a Pilsner at LLBW in fall 2019. Not good would be my charitable description of it.

Probably Hot Nailz. It is one of their worst reviewed beers.
Hungry Eyes and Supremium may have righted the ship though. I haven't had any of them so I was curious.

If it was indeed Hot Nailz that I tried, that name would be a good description of the beer’s taste.

Honestly I usually go to Buttonwoods for my lagers and only have the hops at LLB, but may try the dark lager in the next week or two.

Anniversary 4.4 is also listed on Untappd right now so you know that is dropping very soon. Tomorrow?

Not quite, but available as of Wed:

It’s been a minute since we’ve celebrated an anniversary

Fresh for tomorrow: we drop Anniversary 4.4, a double IPA hopped w/ Rakau, Southern Passion, Azacca + Idaho 7. This blend lends notes of passionfruit, cantaloupe, tangerine and a touch of pine.⁣

This brewery is keeping me coming back unlike any other brewery at the moment which is inconvenient because I live in Canton and don't have to commute to RI anymore. My wife is gonna start becoming suspicious of my weekly suggestion to visit the in-laws

Bummed because for my first time out for a drink since Covid started I had a 5pm reservation today at one of the LLB outdoor tables. Unless this storm stops in its tracks looks like I'll be SOL.

I've been getting even more beer from LLB since I went work from home and not commuting to around 3 miles from Trillium. The money spent on their beer has been set ablaze buying more from my locals.

Update: rain did hold off and our hour and a half on the patio was great. My lineup was Mountains Mountains, Black Cat Sees All, and All Seeing Eye.

Same here, and I can't say I've had a beer from them recently that I didn't enjoy. The recent BA stout, Kiss the Night Goodbye, may be the best new beer I've had all year. Also enjoyed the new barleywine. The IPAs are obviously all good, but I'm glad to see some barrel aged stuff coming out.

They've become my favorite RI brewery, which I probably wouldn't have said 6 months ago and definitely not a year ago.

What was it before, Tilted Barn?

Proclamation overall, Tilted Barn for IPAs.

never tried long live, its about 25 mins from my work this morning. the IPA available got mehhhh reviews on untappd and the growler offerings are all double IPAs. Hard to take down alot of doubles and need to plow through it fresh....... should I wait for next week or has someone had something in the lineup now worth going after?

Double IPAs are kind of their thing.
The All Seeing Eye (growler) is probably considered their best consistently recurring beer and, although I haven't had it, Heart of a Champion (growler) is supposedly great.
They brew an absolute ton of new beers so they can go a few weeks or more without releasing anything recognizable in cans.
If I was you, I would pick up the two growlers I mentioned above and check back for cans next week. They are the 32oz variety of growler so those two would be like a mixed DIPA 4pak. I feel like that is manageable.

Based on my draft of Mountains Mountains I got a growler of this for take home last night, loved it. Did not expect it since the single Mountains had a not great aftertaste. The 4.4 Anniversary is ok but a little sweet for my taste.

In a way I took your advice and am looking to go Monday or Wednesday if there are more cans available “hoping” those growlers are still available. Been hearing the beers are reminiscent of “old” trillium and those are memories I would like to relive. Thanks for the input will report back when I’ve sampled the goods. More of a can guy I need them to hang around a while for when people come over

FYI: per social media on June 23rd, Southern Swells Brewing from Jacksonville Beach (but the owners are from RI) visited LLB. So my guess is that collab should be dropping in the near future. Really enjoyed Southern Swells a few years ago when I was down in FL, they had fantastic IPAs and Berliners.
