Consume is a great beer and small plate spot in LZ around 4 mins away.

I'll agree. The secret is out on Pressed, period. I remember the first one sitting on Binnys shelf so I actually went back and picked up another after I realized how amazing it was. Now I just order direct from the brewery to make sure I get my two pack limit. Every variation has been excellent.

Imperial Falling Colors at More (coffee/maple) was awesome too, better than Pressed even. I tried it within a week of trying Double Stack for the first time, and it blew the Great Notion out of the water. Shaun seriously has a talent for imperial coffee porters.

And this is where you lost me. How? There have been so many differentiations of Pressed compared to the porter(‘s?) he brewed at More.

I’m insinuating your a More fanboy at this point.

I'm far from a More fanboy, especially since Shaun left. I love a few of their beers (Arketype in particular), but I think a lot of their quality has taken a hit. I stopped buying Marbles or Frooted beers altogether because they weren't good any more (although I'm giving Frooted another try because they stopped putting vanilla in it where it wasn't needed). I drink their beer and eat there a lot though, because it's mostly good, and I live like 5 minutes away.

Phase Three has been a disappointment for me so far, because Shaun + More was great, and neither More nor Phase Three has been great since Shaun left.

Coffee/maple Falling Colors was better than Maple Pressed. That's really the most relevant comparison for me.

But your really only comparing the maple variant of his porters. He’s brewed more variants of his porters during his time at P3. I can think of at least 2 Pressed variants that were better than Falling Colors.

I don’t see how Shaun leaving More or vice versa effects his brewing skill.

More hasn’t been great, true, but Phase Three is becoming top tier now that he’s had time to get the system how he wants it. Pressed is excellent. Double Nectar was better than any Frooted or other local fruited sour. Curvature is as good or better than any Henna. Now that he’s dialed in at P3, after Linear Gradient I think his hazies will compete for the top spot in the Chicago market too.

If you like Coconut Pressed better than Falling Colors, that may be because you like coconut better than maple. It's not really a fair comparison.

I never said his brewing skill changed, I said the product hasn't been as good in my experience. I'm no brewer, but I know that a lot more affects the end product than just the skill of the brewer.

Actually, it's not even all the products, just the IPAs really. I did like Falling Colors better than Pressed, but I loved every Pressed I have tried. And Nectar is better than Frooted in my very limited experience. EDIT: It sounds like he may be finally getting the IPAs dialed in, and if that's the case, I'll definitely give it another shot.

I also liked Chocolate Pressed more than Falling Colors as far as those types of porters go. IPAs are getting there and the tell tale will be the next DIPA. Sure he knows that.

As far as products being produced and the end production, Shaun is using quality ingredients by honest people.

Since I’m not on Twitter he HONESTLY gave me NO chance for the Curvature release. Honest indeed.

    LOL That's what I've heard!

I really hope he does have the IPAs dialed in, because pretty much every one he made at More was great.

If you’ll recall, it took over a year for him to dial in his hazies at More as well. You sure you’re not a fanboi? Okay, ex-fanboi... =P

They did get better as time went on, but they were good from the first one I tried.

If you want to call me an ex-fanboi, I guess I can't stop you.

I’m pretty sure his initial post said it wouldn’t hit distro if/until they could do it safely (without post fermentation issues). So I’m not holding my breath, but still hoping.

Yeah “foreseeable future” was the phrasing. But it sounds like they think it would be ok but just not worth the risk. Plus with them selling out of these within 0-3 days, they may as well just do them in house
