I just do not buy bombers any more... Most range from 6-10 and hey geuss what? So do mose 4/6 packs so I have just realized that any beer that is bomber only I can find an equally good sub for in a 4 or 6. The only one I still buy from time to time is Pumking because imo there is no better pumpkin beer, but even with Pumking I still only buy a bomber or 2... If it came is 4 packs I would get a whole case. Maybe in WI I am just spoiled that all the WI beers I like do most of their special releases in 4 packs like NG and CW.

I was sure glad when I got a 4 pack of Triple Karmeliet from the great trader known as match1112 instead of a 750ml. 4 bottles, 4 different days to revel in it. That being said, I still love to down a 22oz or 750ml bottle when I can get it locally. Not local? Give me a chance to drink it more than at one sitting, if it's an option, and I'll love ya forever.:grinning:

    4 packs all the way.

While bombers give you the feel of drinking something special. They are ALWAYS more $ per Oz, Also I hate having to drink 22 Oz at once, If I wanted that much beer I would just crack open 2 12 Oz beers. I dont have too many friends who appreciate a fine brew as much as I do so I never really have to option to split a beer. Not to metnion, I dont want to split my beer, its mine and my friends are not worthy. I dont like drinking a bomber of a high ABV brew (which is the only thing that makes it into bombers most of the time). Thats a lot of beer at once and I often have to make a night out of it. 4 packs give you a beer to drink, a beer to share, a beer to trade and a beer to age (or any combination of the 4). 6 packs are fine but I like to drink and move on to the next beer.

Well there's my rant. More 4 packs please.

I'm still in the early stages of learning what I like, so I enjoy bombers. If I love it, I'll go get another. If not, I'm not stuck with a six pack of something I don't enjoy.

Well WI must not be basically everywhere cuz I have to drive to IL to get ruination or trade for it. Stone, DFH, and Great Divide all used to distribute here and I miss every single one. :slight_frown:

You hate having to drink 22oz at once? You might be barking up the wrong tree on this website.

Hm.. the seek-a-brew site says that Stone still delivers to WI, unless it's just not updated yet.... Or maybe only to select areas of WI or something. That's gotta stink. Stone makes some good stuff and it's always priced relatively well compared to same-style brews.

Seek a brew Lies. I still have some RIS, Old Gaurdian, and Oaked Arrogant Bastard. A lot of the bars I got too carried it but they all stopped distributing here right about when I turned 21 maybe a little after. Oh well I can't really complain I'm not totally shut out by them it'd just be easier if they'd just send it here again so I could get it off the shelf though.

Bombers are great, but they knock me down every time...... 4 packs usually have the best beers.

My heart is torn between the two options. I enjoy a great beer for the night, drinking a bomber. Although I like to have the same beer to drink for the week and that doesn't work well with purchasing a bomber or even two. Some times you have to bit the bullet and not like the 22 oz. Know what your getting yopurself into. I remember getting The Bruerys Autumn and I hated it.

When I think about this, I always think about how BCBS is in 4packs and then I start to wish The Abyss was in 4 packs

Seems that Stone has come to grips with this as Sublimely Self Righteous is now available in 4 pack 12 oz. bottles. Also Ruination and Oaked Arrogant Bastard. The unit price (price per quart) is significantly less and reduces "sticker shock" for a $10.00 oer quart bomber ir aa $18.00 six pack. Other than that, my bomber of Founders Bolt Cutter does look cool.

I think most people have that kind of access. However some places (like my local shop) are too small to be able to support that sustainably. They did it for a little while, but can't keep breaking 6ers that may never move. It was a big enough gamble selling craft beer in a small city.

Count me as one who is in the camp that says to hell with bombers. To put it in perspective, just about every beer that comes in a bomber (Pumking, Rogue Voodoo, Yeti Imperial Stout) is $14.99 minimum. You're telling me that a 6 pack of the same stuff wouldn't cost around the same price, or a little more?

They are just so much more expensive, and I'd rather shell out a few more dollars to get more beer that I potentially might not enjoy than essentially be paying $15 for 22 ounces of beer.

The problem with a bomber is that you're committed to it once you open it, and as such, it means you've spent X amount of dollars on that one (almost two) drink(s). Last night I had to choose: Did I want to spend $5.99 (cheap) for a bomber of Rogue Mogul Madness, or $10.99 for a six of Flying Dog Pearl Necklace oyster stout? I choose the latter, which provided me with beer this afternoon, and tomorrow, or whenever.

If I'm drinking something with a high ABV, that's all I'm going to drink that night.

Once I was feeling overconfident and thought I could drink a bomber of Stone 16th Anniversary ale and a bomber of Smuttynose S'Muttonator.

That was a really bad idea. I didn't get sick, but man, things got pretty shaky there.
