Interesting, I was there 10 minutes before you and got the same vintages but two different BAs.

 

Does anyone have specific thoughts on '18 Lounge? Seems like it was never poured on tap at DLD so reviews are pretty sporadic.

How do I tip before they bring my bags? She stayed far away from me until my bags were brought out. I did wear a mask.

I don't know why they did it. I heard them talking about it though so it seemed intentional. When I went back it was a completely different guy and I explained to him that I would generally NEVER do this but I got 3 identical bags. Same variants. Same vintages. Nothing was different.

The realistic other option is that these people don't drink beer or care about dark lord and were just temp hired people to help, so they had no idea how bad they were ruining me.

 

Not sure if you read my review already, but that's the vintage I had out of the bottle. Enjoyed it thoroughly:

I actually get the chili pepper first, but that only comes out in the initial impression. Strangely, and not in a bad way, guajillo never surfaces again. It's not spicy, yet nears chipotle in adobo, but in a much less overwhelming way (than the Muertes, in particular). / Very unique botanical notes of tequila complement the added orange peel, while the body is smoother, slicker and less syrupy thick or sticky than other variants or even regular Dark Lord. It's almost refreshing, and even makes it extremely easy to put down. The dark roast is accented by cinnamon bark that is much milder than it is in ChemTrailMix, while a smoky char comes out on the exhale. Coming back in for seconds and thirds, the smell emulates chocolate covered orange chews paired with a hint of marshmallow. / What a delightful surprise this was! Before I went into Lounge Against the Macromachine, I was told it was like a ChemTrailMix light, but it's totally an experience unto itself.

 

I'd have been happy with FVM but here's the thing... one of my 3 packages is going to a good trade partner who paid for his bag up front. These are his first dark lord bottles he's ever bought and I would feel terrible sending him a GTM... so I'm giving him the FVM. Originally, I was just going to facetime him and have him pick live, but 3F decided that is stupid.

 

When they lady came out to check our IDs against their list of orders I handed a $10 over with my friend's and my licenses.

Just saying, if anyone is going to be petty, FFF is known for its attitude. They are standing outside all day in the heat.

I specifically traded for a lounge last year, and I’m pumped to drink it when social gathering becomes a thing again.

 

I mean, I was really nice to them and they were really friendly with me. I don't think it was a tip thing at all.

I was shocked the guy didn't tell me to fuck off when I came back but at that point I wouldn't care. I would have told that guy to eat my ass, I'll even pour some GTM down my crack.

 

The Dark Lord thread just got interesting again.

 

this just gets me more excited for 2020 DLD pick-up.

I got there around 2pm and got a '19 FVM and '18 Chemtrail, along with the same 2 x '17 and 1 x '18 vintages in the other bags. No complaints here.

I then went to the brewpub and picked up the pork belly burnt ends. More excited to try those than anything, haha.

 

I hope these GTM’s are out before I go on Thursday. This seemed like a bad day of pickups. A lot of drama and a lot of bad bottles.

I bet they kept like 5 bottles. They only had 1 barrel worth to begin with.
