I'll be there taking my son to the Bass Pro Shop for his birthday. Was looking for any suggestions on a bottle shop close by that may have some local beer stocked? Or maybe a place that is kid friendly for dinner? Not sure I can hit a brewery unless they serve cheeseburgers. Haha. As a side note if you know of any places in that area to throw our poles in for a bit let me know. Thanks for any and all info!

Looks like you are coming from WV? Assuming that you would be coming across 70, two excellent options are Petite Cellars in Marriottsville and Perfect Pour in Columbia. Both should be relatively along your route. For dinner, Columbia Ale House in pretty close to Perfect Pour. Last time I was there they had a big tent set up outside. They are tied in with Oliver, so the beer menu skews heavy with their beers (not a bad thing) but has others such as Aslin and Peabody.

You can probably find a good and current selection of their beers at either of the stores I mentioned, but if not, consider a stop at Cushwa along your drive. They're right where 70/81 meet near Hagerstown. Arguably the best brewery in MD, especially if you like the NEIPAs.
