Hi all, I'm going to be staying in Philly this coming week due to some deaths in the family. Anyone know some good pubs/ breweries that are offering crowlers to go or delivery? I would love to get some Pliny if possible. Thanks everyone!

Pliny bottles do not make it to Philly, draft only. Don't know if anyone ever crowlers it, but Monk's Cafe growler is maybe a possibility as they often have it on draft. Someone posted a bit ago when they were selling Cantillon in mason jar "growlers".

Forest & Main is a respected brewery in the suburbs that is doing hand delivered can deliveries - Philly zip code is only Thursdays, order online by 8pm Wednesday: https://www.forestandmain.com/store

Love City is in Callowhill and cans beer, you could probably walk there to pick up cans.

Prohibition Taproom is a quality gastropub in that area, looks like they are doing takeout/delivery of food and packaged/growler beer

There are a number of brewery taprooms in the Callowhill (Spring Arts) neighborhood. My preference in order is Love City, Yards and Roy Pitz. There is also Triple Bottom which I have not visited yet.

Right next to Love City is a weekends only ‘pop up’ Beer Garden where you can enjoy beer from the four breweries:

“Callowhill/Spring Arts — Four Philly breweries are teaming up for the weekends-only Spring Arts Beer Garden, set up in the area of Callowhill that local businesses are calling the Spring Arts District. The beer garden is next to Love City Brewing at 1023 Hamilton Street, in what was a parking lot owned by neighborhood developer Arts & Crafts Holdings. Love City is collaborating with Roy Pitz, Triple Bottom, and Yards; they’ll all be serving their beers in the space. Food trucks are setting up on the site too. In keeping with city guidelines, everyone has to wear a mask unless seated at a table, and everyone has to be seated while drinking — no standing around. It opens Saturday, June 27, and runs through Labor Day, Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.”

Tired hands delivery. Alternatively St. Oners, their restaurant in fishtown, does contactless pickup (all cans).

Thanks for the recommendations. I've had crowlers of Pliny from Tria taproom in Rittenhouse Square before. I've been to Philly quite a few times since my wife's family lives there and getting a pint of Pliny on draft has almost become a tradition to us lol. I just wasn't sure how the current situation looks there as far as beer goes. I know Monks has a very limited taplist currently and it didn't seem like they had much available to go.

They do have their own delivery for local options but next day at the earliest, and it can be later than that.

Monks will do fills when they have kegs they want to use. You need to buy the growler from them Plus the price of the beer. I know Monks is a bit pricey pre Covid but what they are asking for 4/6 Packs to go is a bit much. Can’t imagine what a fill would cost. Pliny was $8 or $8.50 a pint last time I was there in February.

    Enjoy
