My wife and I were visiting family up in Rhode Island this weekend and had a reservation at Long Live on Saturday. We were very impressed y pretty much everything we had. The All Seeing Eye is one of the better ipas that I've had in recent memory. Picked up two growlers of that, a 4pk of the Anniversary and a bottle of the barleywine. I always hit up Tilted Barn when up in RI, but I'll definitely be adding these guys to my rotation.

    You called it.

@ppponte you going? It's a Double but like I said, that is kind of what they do.

We're going to Newport this weekend (driving from Boston) and I was thinking of swinging by for curbside can pickup. If anyone knows the area or has made a similar drive and has an idea of how much time I'd be tacking onto my drive as opposed to the straight shot to Newport, that would be awesome info since I don't want to drag my wife and our pup on a long detour. Thank you!

10 minutes round trip off 95. It's before/North of the 195 split so you can still hop on if you planned on skipping the toll on the Pell.

Is using google maps that difficult?

im not a huge double ipa guy just because most of my beer intake is post golf and walking 9 or 18. Sucking down doubles can just drop anchor on you. I need to visit the taproom for table service and try everything. I can’t commit to a pickup if all they have are doubles, I check every week they literally don’t make Single IPAs and the one they had this month had average reviews on Untappd

My number one brewery on lookout to try

Of course not; I was looking for -- and @mhull was kind enough to provide -- more local insight.

Well now they're adding a 5.2% pale ale to the mix:

Seems like the obvious answer. "Master brewer up north"

Armando does Edward. This should be interesting.

Pretty freaking delicious, having one now. It's been awhile since I had either so my taste meter may be jammed, but I'd put it a little closer to the Austin St Patina side than the Edward side. That is not a slight at all! This beer has a great body for a pale, so many I have are basically hop water.

LLB cans have been lasting a while so I grabbed a few 4-packs this time, but am going to do a bigger stock up next week to have this as a rest-of-summer sipper.

I was thinking of picking up that pale ale, but if its like Patina which I have in my fridge right now Im going to pass. I was hoping for an edward clone

How often do they typically release new stuff? Going to be in Newport this weekend and was thinking of making a stop to get cans on the way down or back to Boston but was hoping to grab an IPA or DIPA but none seem to be available today. Thank you!

In the LLB message he said it wouldn't be a "clone", that while this is closer to Patina than Edward my recollection was Patina was a little more aggressive/piney on the finish, seemed like Radio On was softer.

Sorry, you're going to have to clone Mr. Hill for an Edward clone to happen!

Oh damn, they just ran out of 3 IPA cans in the past day then. If you want to go the 32 oz growler route I'd guess they will have the 2 IPAs there and maybe add the Southern Swells collab now that those cans are out of stock. There is the potential for one more can to be dropped tomorrow so check it out then.

But for RI beer it would be a good time to sample Buttonwoods' goods located the next city down, with 5 IPAs/DIPAs available currently: https://shop.buttonwoodsbrewery.com/

I swung by yesterday after a day trip to the shore. It was the first time I have been in forever. This 14 day quarantine is going to be totally worth it.
I lucked out with the releases and got All Seeing Eye DDH, DDH Prissint, and Isosceles Dimension (for something lighter). I will post again with thoughts after I crack a few.

One strange thing, I was reading Untappd reviews in anticipation of this latest batch of All Seeing Eye and someone said, "Clearly new ferm profile LL. Prefer the old ferm profile from West Fountain". Is there any truth to that or is that person talking out of their ass? Is it common for breweries to change ferm profile when they scale up? The only time I have ever heard ferm profile mentioned was in reference to Trillium and I think that news came directly from the brewery.

Not sure if it's true but I'm picking up my cans today and I'll report back. Everything I've had from the new spot has been awesome so far. These days some people just need something to bitch about
