    Think i had one around 1/1/2018 new years and it definitely wasnt "hot" - but i agree i didn't think it was all that different from regular bcbs & not exactly worth it

    You found Rare 2015 hot?

    Man even back in the day when I used to despise boozy barrel aged brews the first bottle I had of Rare '15 was surprisingly drinkable for me. More recently it's only moreso, one of the best straight BA stouts I've ever had. Wish I could snag more.

    I've had 2 separated by about 2 years. Drank one about 6 months ago and before that one roughly in 2017-2018. The earlier one got me trading for more of it. So much depth and a completely different beer from regular BCBS. The later bottle was all char and smoke. It started to hit it's stride towards the end of the bottle but Idk perhaps many of these have changed hands a few times. I traded for 2017 reserve and thought it was a smoke mess too. Prob solely after having that I would never trade for a reserve again.

    I thought it was pretty boozy. I got a huge amount of bourbon on the nose, and a fair amount of bourbon on the palate as well. As much as I like bourbon, it seemed to really dominate the flavor profile, to the point it was difficult to appreciate the underlying base beer. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a pretty good beer as well (as my review score indicates I think - 4.34), but clearly not worth the price GI was charging for it at the time ($50 a pop where I bought it). At least not to me. However, it struck me as a beer that might improve considerably over time, which is why I posted my question. As I'm unlikely to ever try another bottle myself...

    Might need a small plus, but Blessed stock is going up, so may not need a plus if it's value keeps going up.

    Really depends on what MT stouts you are going after. Modem Tones Vanilla could easily get done but something more rare like Monster Tones or Monsters Park Coconut S'mores would be really hard to get done with only BL stouts.

    I would be down for trading some Modern Times stuff for Bottle Logic. It is hard for me personally to get down to Anaheim but I regularly go to the Dojo and pickup my MT stuff.

    I think you're off unfortunately. B4K hitting distro in CA, and ADWTDO is still around 150 . if you add maybe someone will bite. but might need a bigger anchor.

    Are you guys seeing a lot of B4K in California? I realize the beer did see some distribution, but it seemed to be very, very limited (much less this year than in previous years). Here in PDX for example, very few places received any bottles and no place received more than a case. So it sold out very quickly here (no place had it available for more than a day or two).

    There was some mention of a possible second drop, but that never panned out. So far, no place in town has even had it on tap (I was able to find B2K and B3K on tap without difficulty in previous years). Hence my curiosity about availability in California.

    Maybe it arrived 6-8 weeks ago, I forget. I personally didn't want any, so I didn't grab any. But I'm sure less than B3K. B3K, was readily available without limits.

    Haven’t seen it at all in sf Bay Area, whereas b3k saw distro in San Jose in quite a few places.

    My thought is this should get done.
    Personally, b4k has been my favorite of the series.
    Locally, they are slightly below trading 1:1 with Midnight Still 2020 or low level Floodland bottles.

    I jumped the gun trading for it along with B3K before it hit locally here in LA but that’s alright considering I landed a B3K with it in exchange for some hops.

    What might those Floodland bottles be? Haha! I imagine a lot of folks that have those Floodland bottles are the same people holding both B4K and Midnight Still (HoG).

    Seems like you got the pulse on PNW beers, would Theorem be 1:1 with HoG ‘20?
