Mikerphone Brewing (2020)

Special Sauce was the beer that made Mikerphone and Hazy IPAs click for me. I wish I lived closer.

 

I got one. Generally speaking the BA adjunct stouts from Mikerphone have a high batting average. Hopefully it’s not thin and the sub 11% abv is due to the adjuncts

 

I went for 2. Been a while since I had any Mikerphone and I felt salty missing out on Mehndi lol.

 

Yeah we have to stop calling November-December Stout Season just because there’s BCBS. Stout season never ends

 

Same. I spent my Mehndi $$ on Mikerphone. &%$# you More, your stupid beer doesn't even have any adjuncts in it!!!!

 

So I tried Beer for Breakfast yesterday, and I'd say the same thing about this one as I would about pretty much every BA beer they have done recently: It's good, it nails all the flavors they were going for really well, and the barrel is almost not noticeable. It could have ended up overly sweet with both maple and strawberries, but I think they held back on the maple a little. The strawberry is by far the more dominant flavor, and it's surprisingly not overly sweet (by pastry standards, of course).

 

Oh no, is Mikerphone going to ruin ice cream, too?

But seriously, how is this done while maintaining the abv?

I’ll have the Imperial Smells Like Bean Spirit ice cream, please. If I want whip cream, hot fudge, peanuts and a cherry can I upgrade to the Sundae, Bloody Sundae?

 

Just opened a beer for breakfast and found a free spinning cap although I couldn’t pull the cap by hand. Still carbonated and still smelled of strawberry and still tasted of pecan & buyers remorse

 

Has anyone on here tried any ice cream like this from any brewery? My first thought is that it would taste primarily like alcohol. -Similar to that alcohol smell you get if you stick your nose too deep into a glass of whiskey and inhale too quickly.
