Woah, pretty crazy. Glad I ordered right when I saw it, even if it made me feel a little silly.

I had one last night. Reminds me of Anti-Hero, but a bit lighter if that makes sense.

I know Shaun has said in the past that anti-hero was what got him into craft beers or the beer that inspired him initially. One of the two

hot take - good warm weather beer; balanced, easy drinker. Very well-constructed. Nowhere near as interesting as Terrazzo. This will sound disparaging but isn’t meant to be - this would be a great starter west coast ipa for someone who doesn’t already love the style.

Not nearly as malty as Pliny :sunglasses:

In our quest to unfairly compare local beers to other regional staples, Vivid Light reminds me of a Pizza Port WCIPA. Super crushable, dry, and all the hop notes you want in a WCIPA, but rather basic in a perfectly executed kind of way. Plan to enjoy a few of these over the weekend.

Safe to say DDH Double Pixel is my favorite hazy Shaun has done at P3. Super soft with a pretty nice citra punch.

FYI- there’s more Vivid Light in the brewery online store for anyone up in the area that missed out initially.

LZ is too much of a haul for me. However, one day I will make it for some Nectar.

I am however having my DDH Double Pixel now, and I t’s really damn good. I would prefer a touch more of a hop bite at the end, but it hits every other note perfectly. Shaun has really proven my initial opinions wrong lately. He’s starting to set the bar for haze for the Chicagoland area.

Yeah I'm with you, it's a nice beer but no Terrazzo.

It's a great hop profile and wonderful flavor for a single IPA though.

Watched a bit of the FB live video Shaun and Evan did:

They have 112 barrels now. Mostly stouts, but some Pressed and a Barleywine. Shaun is a big fan of Willet barrels and is experimenting with those barrels, but said the trusted barrels are Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill. He has some barrels from CH and Warehouse Liquors.

He knows the demand for membership is big, but most likely they'll make the BA beers available to the public before expanding membership.

The tap room will be unique. No corrugated metal, wood or Edison bulbs. Evan also said they'll have more space soon.

This has been my book report.

I’ll add a little bit on:

-Terrazo has been re-brewed and is in the tanks (that’s gonna make some BA folks happy)
-Don’t expect a Pressed/Curvature in the next couple of weeks as neither have been brewed lately
-3 beers coming up this week including a Triple IPA with Citra, Nelson, and Galaxy

I had a Nectar (peach + passion fruit) and DDH Double Pixel tonight. Both are very good and the Pixel is in particular

I’ve been curious when we will see another BA bottle release, whether it be Ambassador only or public. I had a bottle of Eunoia recently and it was fantastic. I’m ready for more.
