Not sure why there are 3 question marks (or one)

Not seeing the Oktoberfests around here yet but definitely looking forward to it. Particularly Ayinger and the Weinhenstephaner Festbier.

I never understood the concept of pumpkin beer ---- (wait, I can stop right...)

I never understood the concept of pumpkin beer being associated with, and seasonal to, Halloween. Sure pumpkins are carved as decorations for that holiday but pumpkin pie (the obvious inspiration for most modern pumpkin beers - despite all the nonsense about George Washington's recipe) is more a Thanksgiving dessert in my mind (Christmas, too, for that matter).

No kid ever got a pumpkin pie* while trick-or-treating...

    * But that would have been OK to drop into my "repurposed" pillow-case...

It’s one thing to want a festbier this time of year, it’s another to ever want a pumpkin beer

Yeah, I always used to buy a case of Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin- before the plethora of pumpkin beers arrived- and would gladly sip one every now and then towards the new year.

Every year they start selling the pumpkin beers early and i just can't see myself drinking them before September. If at all a lot of times. It's just not the same since i moved from PA to Florida.
Although, I do love me some Warlock!

I like Warlock, too; however, I probably won’t be buying any pumpkin beer (again) this year...

I totally love Oktoberfest beers (well, most of them). The only ones I have seen around here so far are Shiner, Spaten, and Paulaner. Hopefully the others will start showing up soon!

Pumpkin beers and oktoberfests can't get here soon enough. Haven't seen one in my area, but hoping to score some on Monday morning when I get off work. This is the one time of year I love seasonal creep. Don't care for many Summer seasonals. Love those Fall and Winter beers. But, I'll be crying the blues when Spring beers take the Winter seasonals off the shelves by February 1st.

Saw my first Oktoberfest beers on area shelves this week. Really disappointed that even Jack's Abby has given in to the seasonal creep. Why not can these beers in August so they'll be fresh when people are ready to drink them in September?

Have been thinking the same thing. I assume all the annual FH festivals will be cancelled this year.

I'm still expecting to see a plethora of fh stuff on shelves and draft locally, but nothing like what we've seen in previous years.

    Amen!

My favorite Oktoberfest beer every year is Sly Fox Oktoberfest and every year (so far) they have canned their beers no earlier than the month of August. I have yet to see their beers on my local beer retailers' shelves so it appears they are staying true and consistent.

    Cheers to Sly Fox!

They're out much later than previous years in my region. I am guessing COVID-19 has played a factor in the slow distribution.

Many years ago I questioned why they were out so early to my local retailer, and was told that it was because there was a need to saturate shelves early for both distribution and sales. They couldn't stock them fast enough before Halloween and after Halloween sales dropped off significantly. There was a rush to distribute and sell early.

I have a double kitchen sink AND a laundry tub, so will happily drain pour your pumpkin beers for a minimal fee. Shipping not included.

On a more serious note, Ayinger is fantastic.

The Yakima FH fest was cancelled long ago, and I have to assume Hood River is as well.

Well, with the aluminum and can shortage, there might not as many on the shelves either. Glass is available, but not many breweries have invested in bottling lines the few years. And the mobile packagers are booked solid. FH beers might get bypassed for core beers, to help keep shelf spots at the large retailers.
