After a misty morning, the sun has returned to NY metro's Northern suburbs. In my sojourns, I had picked up a can of Sun Reaper from Toppling Goliath. Remember the brand kick off in the area. Well made beers, so glad to see they are beginning to mix up the offerings a bit more.

I like my IPAs fresh, so no complaints here, also ...

Probably going to get into the pool with The Writing Systems of the World by Florian Coulmas for a bit. Stay Safe, SunScreen, Don't Fear the Reaper, and Sláinte, mo Chairde!

Humble Forager Coastal Sunshine Fruited Sour (orange, pineapple, banana version). Everything I’ve had from this brewery has been great so far, especially this series of “fruit smoothie beers”. The orange and lactobacillus add a nice bright orange tartness, almost like Tang drink with a touch more tartness. It leans more orange than the other fruits, but the sweet/juicy pineapple and sweet/creamy banana balance it out well. Not super thick like some other beers of this “style”, but still more robust than your typical 6% beer. May not be much of a beer, but it’s certainly a tasty drink.

I enjoyed it but to be honest I like the Blanc better. Sadly we usually get it at EPCOT where it's about $9.50 per bottle. Cheers!

Well this storm is a total disappointment, I love using my chain saw and it won't be needed unless things get better. It's 88 and sunny now with a bit of rain every 15-20 minutes when small bands blow thru....M-43 one of the best in my current collection.

Drinking dogfish has sequence also session sour at the moment. At outer Banks on the beach, watching and listening to a flock of seagulls. Perfect weather. A breeze and a buzz. Seeing my 2 yr old marvel at the ocean for the first time.

    Cheers

This qualifies as the best Trillium beer I've had in a long time. Holy shit. Awesome. Cheers!

Lug Tread, a Kolsch from Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company in Ontario. The brewery is about a twenty minute drive from where most of my wife’s family lives, so we visited a few times during the very early days. Then, visited again in December after a long absence and noticed how much things have expanded. They’ve done well and haven’t been shy about trying different styles. For the record, it’s been at least a decade since they’ve used the off-white ceramic bottle shown on the BA page for the beer. Cheers.

I thought I had a new beer for today, but I double checked UT and I’ve had once before, two Christmas’s ago while in Edinburgh...I remember buying some random singles on sale at Oddbins (great beer selection in a mostly liquor/wine/nibbles shop on the edge of downtown)...so I’ll do style tic number 102 review here - Leffe Bruin:

Pours deep amber/light brown at 55 degrees straight out of my chiller; excellent clarity; one finger of fluffy dark beige head; very good cap retention; sticky layers of lacing; solid ring from start to finish. Clove, esterly/spicy Belgian yeast, caramel malt nose. Semi sweet caramel malt, clove, toasted brown bread. Moderate prickly carbonation; medium light body; no warmth from 6.5% abv. Overall, I like; easy drinking, kinda fun with all the carbonation; a little more clove than I normally want, but enjoyable for what it is on occasion; I would definitely drink again.

The base of the beer tastes like Trillium, but it's just phenomenal overall. I gave it a 4.49. Loved it.
