So glad you found their (lightly smoky) Heller Lager. But if you really want a Rauchbier, then you need to try their actual Rauchbier. This is Rauch Lite, and it's great. But it's nowhere near as smokey as the real Rauchbier from Schlenkerla. PROST!

First time I've had this from a can, and it's reasonably consistent with the bottled version.
I looked up the origins of the name "Huge Arker", and found some wacky trivia...
It is a "Boontling" phrase. Apparently, Boontling is a jargon or argot spoken only in Boonville in Northern California. Today it is nearly extinct, and fewer than 100 people still speak it. Really??

Good to see this Chouffe has found its way to France too ! Had it recently and realy enjoyed this Witbier from La Chouffe. I like to compare this with Blanche de Namur anytime soon (when I can get Blanche de Namur again that is).
    Cheers!

You can thank @semibaked as he's the real source of those beers. I'm just a friendly courier in this situation. Thanks to both of you for your beer kindness over the years!

EDIT: Assuming you have the same weather as us today, it's amazing out! Definitely have a BA stout in the fridge for tonight.

Blanche de Namur is good. This one is great. I don’t really like Hoogarden much though. Cheers!

Hurricane / tropical storm largely missed the Outer Banks of NC, at least the northern part where I am. The house shook a bit this morning in the wind, but it was fairly tame overall. In its wake it's turned out to be a beautiful day. I picked up a number of new to me beers yesterday at a local shop. Raspberry Blush by Mikkeller happened to be the first one I grabbed from the fridge today. Solid, but unspectacular. A good, lighter beer for a warm summer day.

Just cracked a can of Cadence Brewing: DDH Atlas. Cadence appears to be a subsidiary of Decadent Brewing, which specializes in 4 ingredient (malt, hops, yeast, and water) beers, as opposed the parent organization (which is adjunct and additive intense). Enjoyed it, but the non-DDH version is amazing. Of the latter, I dare say I'm:

Picked this up at Decadent the other day. Not much mango evident on the nose or palate.

It’s been 3-4 years I think since the last batch. And since New Glarus is closed to the public for the time being they sent this typically brewery only beer out to retail in only the county that New Glarus is in. Just perfection as only Dan makes!!
