    Hi All-

Headed to Cape Cod later this month from NYC. I've been reading a bunch about 12 Percent Beer Project and the other breweries that use this facility. It looks like the number of beers available for pickup in North Haven are somewhat limited. Would it be advantageous to hit a beer store near there in order to get a bit more variety? If so, can anyone advise on a craft beer store close by?

Any guidance on other CT breweries to hit up would also be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

I don't have info on 12%, but if you head towards North Haven you will be close to NEBCO and Counter Weight.

Also, if you are heading up I95 you will be passing pretty close to Beer'd and Grey Sail.

If you are going up the I-95 Corridor and the timing works you will want to hit Fox Farm. One of the best (if not THE best) breweries in CT.

youve got recommendations of the cant miss breweries in CT IMO.

If you go to NEBCO, Amity Liquors is about 500 yds away and usually has a good selection of locals that are distributed. Ive seen 12% stuff at my local shop (Coastal) which is owned by same parent company as Amity.
FWIW, Coastal is about 2 mins off of I95 at exit 54 and has a lot of local brewery representation.

If you like sours OEC is a little off the beaten path, but would be worth the jaunt.

    enjoy the trip!

Which route you taking through RI and SE Mass and what time of day/week? That should narrow down which breweries will be open for visiting.

Most likely 95>195>6. We'll be headed out on a Monday afternoon which is when I'll have time to stock up. I know that limits me with some spots that are closed for business that day.

    Long Live in Providence.
    Awesome beer. Open on Mondays.
    I beat @Newport_beerguy to it!

Naukabout is probably putting out the best stuff right now. Exit 2 off the Midcape Highway in Mashpee. They have a beer garden open right now and are available for curbside (very efficient with either of order online or order from your car).

Devil's Purse in Dennis is solid. Their kolsch is excellent and readily available throughout the Cape. They are online order w/ curbside pickup only now.

Ha yes @YourDigitalGrave covered the best stop above. In addition for RI, Buttonwoods Brewery in Cranston and Proclamation Ale in Warwick are open 7 days/week for can pickups (1-6pm for BW & 2-6pm for Proc respectively). The good news is both breweries sell single cans so you could sample a handful of beers within 1 or 2 four packs.

Long Live and Buttonwoods = Online pre-order only, but you can literally order in the parking lot and walk right over with your confirmation email.

Proclamation = Online pre-orders up to an hour before opening. During business hours you can walk up and order, credit card payment only.

Not up on Cape Cod breweries, but if you were to return from the Cape between Thursday and Sunday I'd recommend Canned Heat in Fall River (closed early week).

Solid suggestion. Looking for cans that don't hit NYC distro.

Tough call, Proclamation has been around longer but damn if Buttonwoods doesn't hit the spot. BW has maybe a little more variety currently with a few farmhouse bottles, a few lagers, a few sours, and 5 pales/IPAs/DIPAs. Proclamation just dropped their first foeder beer in quite awhile, but they've been mostly pales and stainless sours recently.

Tilted Barn has the wildest hazeboi following, they are pre-order only on Wednesday afternoons for pickup Thursday, Friday or Saturday afternoon.

Out of the craft brewers in the state though (apart from 'Gansett obviously), I'd say Grey Sail is the most "consistent". However they are only selling their flagship pale (Flying Jenny), session (Little Sister), IPA (Pour Judgement) or DIPA (Captain's Daughter) currently. Just the fact they still have flagships like an old school brewery shows they are the most consistent. lol

I also agree Devils Purse is a good stop. I went there years ago and was very impressed, I dont know the details of covid sales, but seems like @EDNOSE hooked you up with that info. Cold Kolsch on the Cape....winning!

Very good. They make some of the best IPAs and fruited beers in the state.
