Any guesses as to what the Fremont Instagram post today is previewing? Something with silver wax...

 

Coconut B-bomb has silver wax, but I don’t think they would be cagey about it if that’s what it is. The “camaraderie“ bit suggests a collaboration.

Ugh I love Fremont but I will never understand the obsession with the peated everything

Looks like UT shows a peated B-Bomb, which I think was only for HHC or otherwise extremely limited. I’m no fan of peat, but I think they’re maybe not too obsessed with 2 releases in more than 2 years (or, you know, the 9 years before that).

 

You're right. I'm clearly prone to exaggeration. I should've said I wish they wouldn't do peated anything, especially the anniversary beer, but maybe it'll be good.

 

I, personally, absolutely love Islay scotch and anything peated. I cannot wait for this, considering how good peated B2k was and how I adore Westland's whiskey.

 

Peated went in 5 mins flat. I am shocked.

 

The peated sold out in 3 minutes and the 1 1/2 L went in less than 5. I was able to get one of the peated so I'm happy.

 

Extremely disappointed to have missed a bottle of peated (sold out in 2-3 minutes?). I know they mentioned low bottle counts, but hopefully there will be a few kegs floating around...

Regardless, I'll take a lighting fast online blowout over 2 hours in line any day.

 

I just missed the 2:00 peated release, but probably would have gotten shut out anyway. How does it even work? Does the beer appear in the "beer to go orders" page at the appointed time, or does a link go live on the page with anniversary beer listings? Never done this before but I'll give it a shot at 5:00.

Thanks. I'm already at that page but don't see anything I can do on it. The Square Pay site looks like it's set up for vendors, not customers. I guess I will figure it out. Or just watch for this at Metropolitan Market or Central Market in a few weeks—they had Rusty Nail and Brew 4000...

 

The blue banner in the top right will change at 5:00 to order now. As far as Square Pay goes, all I know is once I ordered beer from them I was registered from then on. I did nothing.

 

Got it. Since I missed the peated version (and assuming it was brewery only) maybe I’ll try dumping a shot of Laphroaig 10 into a glass of BA Dark Star... Good luck to you too!

 

My clock still said 2:02 when the peated was sold out. The cvv on my card was worn and I entered a 6 instead of an 8 and by the time I corrected the mistake it was gone. Oh well. Like someone else said, better that than waiting in line for hours.

 

Same thing happened to me with B4K. C'est la Vie. Hopefully it pops up around town at some point, but if not, I don't think anyone will die as a result!
