When I asked the bartender today at Villa Park, if it would last until Fri. They said " Oh yeah it should last until Sat." without hesitation so Im guessing they had a few kegs since its on at VP and Huntley and maybe some for the Anniversary tapping.

I have a Friday evening res. I'll do a status check for you.

Any word on the Double Frooted release they eluded to in the Mehndi email?

Well I will hope it somehow survives the day Saturday so I can get a pour at lunch on Sunday but I don't expect it will. Wanted to get there some time during the week but just wasn't in the cards. Regardless, walking away with a bottle so still a win!

I just had a pour of Mehndi at VP when I went to go get my bottle and its amazing. Reminded me a lot of 2012 BCBS which was one of my fave years... just my opinion though

great tasting notes - and an impressive beer.

I will add a gripe, though: why are they serving this beer ice cold on draught? (Insert a microwave joke here)

Let's not turn this into the Jackie O’s thread from yesteryear.

Is it wrong that I'm most excited about the BiB: Breakfast Blend? I have the 12th off of work but not sure I want to make the nearly one hour drive out to Huntley for it.

I'm sure they just store the stout kegs into the fridge where the other tap lines draw from. AFAIK, some places with multiple fridges keep one of them around 50 degrees for this reason - More is not one of them.

Pouring strong when we left at 8:45 tonight. They are only allowing 1 pour per person which is probably helping it run into the weekend. Also, only a handful of people seemed to be drinking it. Mehndi, as billed, is a very good straight up BA stout.

Service was pretty slow. Took us an hour and 45 minutes to get out of there and we were right on time for our reservation. Maybe they are running a skeleton crew or something but food took a long time. Not going to get worked up about that. Happy to be out of the house and I know everyone is doing the best they can right now. Everyone was friendly and food was good.

If anything, I was a little miffed about Double Frooteds not being available until Saturday. Hell, if they could send an email out a week in advance to people who got Mehndi to tell them they would probably be available on Friday when you picked your bottle up, they probably could've sent another email out earlier this week telling people it'll be Saturday instead of making an Instagram post about it Friday evening. I spent the money allocated for that on Dovetail Kolsch and Festbier instead and I'll sleep just fine tonight.

Had a reservation for July 18th that got canceled due to the 'rona and by chance re-scheduled for this recent Saturday. First time ever at More and 2nd time trying their beers (first time at Corridor when they did a collab night). Wife and sister-in-law loved the Frooted beers and milkshake IPAs. The Frooted with mango, dragon fruit, & passion fruit was everyone's favorite of the fruity beers. I ended up ordering a 5oz of Double Dusty and 5oz of Mehndi. Very much enjoyed the Double Dusty. If I wasn't driving I'd have upgraded to a full glass.

Not a criticism of Mehndi but more of a compliment to the quality and availability of beers these days. Mehndi was well done and tasty but it didn't differentiate itself from the many BA stouts available in Chicagoland.

We had no idea this weekend was a Mehndi release for bottles and draft. My wife cracked the table up when she noticed a pattern of a distinct customer walking into More. Every time a middle-aged potbellied man walked into More by himself it was to grab a Mehndi bottle.

Stopped in at Huntley hoping to get a pour of double barrel Mehndi and they wouldn't serve me one unless I was sitting at a table. Pretty lame.

I have a res for 2 but my wife hit ER last night so I have to bring my 1 & 2 yr old now if going...(wife is ok, already spent a couple hrs with her, but being monitored before anyone claims Husband of the Year) Instead can go toe to toe with Rev stroller dad for Father of the Year!

Why? Because you failed to make a reservation and follow their rules?

I didn't realize I needed to have a reservation to get a pour. Thought I could walk in and just order a beer, like how it usually works when something is on draft.

And I still don't see anything that said you needed a reservation to get a pour. You needed a reservation to guarantee seating. Huntley has a big open space with standing tables so I don't see why they aren't letting people just have a pour.

Valid point. But we are not in the usual kind of times and that's not any ordinary beer (quantity, demand). All these guys have new procedures for the time being.
