    Hello Houston BAs,

I'll be in town 8/20 - 8/23. Anything you'd suggest checking out such as new beer releases, tap takeovers, or other beer related events?

Any recommendations on what breweries, beer bars, or other beer-centric places are open/accepting visitors? I'm thinking of places with outdoor/open space where 4-8 people can safely enjoy some beer and food.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Most everything is closed expect for to go purchases. That being said, Local Group Brewing and Saint Arnold's Beer Garden and Restaurant have done about as good of a job as you can do for social distancing, masks, and limiting the amount of people that come in. Both have restaurants and are really good food, and plenty of outdoor seating. I have gone out only a few times for a bite and a beer, and those are the places I choose. Hay Merchant has just opened up again, with the same restrictions and rules that you would expect, and they are doing a good job of it as well. I would check hours and rules before you go. Other than that there will not be many, if any events going on. Stay safe and have fun.

Oh, and I really haven't been keeping up with any new releases lately, I'm sure breweries are doing those for to go only.

Thanks for the info! All makes sense considering everything going on. Even though it would be nice to park it somewhere, I'm not going to force it. May end up making more stops for carryout beers instead.

Holler Brewing has to go and there are picnic tables out front in the green space where you can go sit. They have food trucks sometimes depending on the day, so check out their twitter feed. If no food trucks you can walk across the street to the Pho place and grab some Pho or a pretty good bahn mi. For eating I think Hughies (Vietnamese) is doing take out with growler fills, I think they will let you sit on their patio, if you get togo but inside is a no no. I believe the Flying Saucer opened back up for dine in. Enjoy your stay
