Mikerphone Brewing (2020)

If you chop up a bunch of bourbon barrel staves and stick them in a tub of ice cream, does that count as "barrel aged"? I think it does for coffee.

So there's a place in the west loop called Cone that has several flavors of alcoholic ice cream available at all times. They are Irish themed, so I think they always have Guinness and Jameson flavors, and they usually have others too. It's cold, so the alcohol smell on the Jameson is pretty muted, but it's there. The Guinness doesn't have a hint of alcohol, but Guinness is pretty low alcohol itself. Both taste pretty good, but they really suffer texture-wise, especially the Jameson, which is so crunchy it's halfway to a sno-cone. They aren't soft serve though, I'm not sure how that would work.

 

Is Mikerphone the only brewery that believes beer drinkers love lactose?

Quite a wild ride on Mikerphone social media over the last 24 hours.

 

My wife made beer ice cream once (I can't remember what beer she used)....it wasn't boozy but it was awful.

It was a tragedy all around, wasting beer and producing that monstrosity when we could have made actual tasty ice cream instead.

 

I made some ice cream with one of the infected BCBS 2015s back in the day(can't remember whether it was Prop, coffee or reg) and it was good minus the burnt flavors I got from reducing the BCBS at too high a heat. Had the process been done differently so as not to pickup the burnt flavors it would have been amazing.

 

Officer "Have you had anything to drink tonight?"
Mikerphone motorist "No, offficccccccceerrrr, jussss haddd a coupla icccccccecream conessss."

 

I've said "Ocifer" so many times in my head as a joke that everytime I am pulled over, I have to consciously make sure I say Officer. Seems like a bad way to start the interaction calling him Ocifer.

To be fair, my family is wierd, and we've always done weird letter switches. Water Mellon is Otter Wellon. Dairy Queen was Quairy Deen. Peppered Steak was Feffered Snake.

I don't know why. Don't ask.

Weird that MoRE and Mikerphone posted they're going to be doing this on the same day. Hard not to picture a beer-ice cream machine salesman going down 83 making rounds last week.

Had some Great Lakes Christmas Ale ice cream a few years ago. First couple bites were interesting but was hard to get through a small cup. Never tried it again. Probably not full ABV, but tasted a lot like the brew.

 

Maman ice cream was great

 

Sitting around on a bar stool drinking all day isn't destructive enough. What if we added high calorie dairy?

 

They need to set up a sundae buffet so you can add additional adjuncts.
